I finished another bandaged Mirror Blocks variation, stick red mirror stickers.

And I'm worrying the name, because I don't want to name imagined any disasters.
Then I can't use the "Volcano of Wander" name easily.

What do you think which name is better for this puzzle ?

I say Volcano of wander (like I earlier suggested in another topic :D ) The 3 wanders look good all together.

Sunset of wander gets my vote. I could get lost wandering around watching a sunset, walking on a beach near the ocean, and in a forest. Stick with the theme!

Am I correct that all three have the same bandaging pattern? If so, it is impressive how much bandaging from a different orientation can have on the appearance of the final puzzle.

I really like the name "Volcano of Wander". It seems to match the best with "Forest of Wander" and "Ocean of Wander".

Just my two cents.

I think Canyon of Wander fits best with the current two. Volcano strikes me more as orange, being that lava is orange.

While it's not currently winning the poll, I voted for Rose of Wander - because to me, when the puzzle is scrambled, it can be reminiscent of the petals of a rose.

Well, includes all (so small) differences, corners are eight, and orientations are three, then totally 24 patterns are there.
(Of course, I don't have so many variations mirror colors. ;)

For example, ordered all faces for 1 to 6 distance from center (1 opposites 6, 2 opposites 5, and 3 opposites 4, similarly dice).
Freely corners can be made 123, 124, 153, 154, 623, 624,653,645.
And when 123 corner is freely, upper side can be used 1, 2, 3.

Freely corner is 645 and upper side is 6, is the "Forest of Wander", and freely corner is 123 and upper side is 1, is the "Ocean of Wander".
And this red type is 624 is freely corner, and upper side is 6.
When I use 645 to freely corner but upper side is 4, the shape will be changed.

Yes, really those three cube's bandaged pattern is same.
These solutions are same, can be solved by Jaap's site's solution. ;)
I took a movie, and uploaded to YouTube.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6TspnjWG-o

And you can select above 24 pattern's one easily. X-)

Another very nice variation of this puzzle Hidetoshi!! Since I can not think of any name suggestions right now (too tired), I would have to say that Volcano is the most appealing name choice to me.

I also voted for Volcano of Wander... that color doesn't really make me think of sunsets so much.

Looks like the polls are neck and neck right now for those two options though.

YAY! Volcano is winning again! I was afraid that sunset was going to win. IT would be a nice name, but it doesn't match the color.

I just don't think volcano goes with the theme Hidetoshi has established (forest, ocean...). Those are peaceful things. Relaxing...

A volcano is a fiery mountain of death.

That's why I thought canyon of wander or orchard of wander would fit better.

I agree with that, but the color red makes me think more of volcanos then sunsets. Maybe if it was orange then sunset would fit.

Now I think, "Sunset" for orange when I made newly, and when I use golden, I'll name "Autumn" imaged from ginkgo. :)

Already I made "four seasons cubes" from normally 3x3, then when I made bandaged cube from normally 3x3 cube, I can make by those similarly colors.
For example, blue 3x3's bandaged cube with blue type colors is another "Ocean of Wander". Then I don't need to strain for Mirror Block's bandaged. ;)
I'll make "Sunset of Wander" from normally orange 3x3 for another image. :)

And yes, "Volcano" is a little severe to use puzzle's name, because some Japanese area is damaged by eruptions, similarly any other country's volcanoes.
But reverse, I can't image any easygoing name from red. Perhaps already red color has passionate image, "rage", "vent", or similarly hard words.

My irresolute mind can't decide the red "Wander" puzzle's name... X-(

Not every word associated with red is so negative though: Determination, Passion, Love, Desire, Strength, Energy.

Not all words associated with it are negative, but I think it is generally associated with an intensity(whether good or bad).

For example, the words tattooed listed are mostly words that would be associated with powerful feelings.

I think that might be why it seems harder to come up with a good "peaceful" name for red than for green or blue.

That's also why I automatically thought that volcano fit(though I have to admit that rather than peaceful, I was thinking of either places you might think of as an adventure, or perhaps something "elemental"[though when I thought of that flame/fire seemed more suitable than volcano])

Why not mirror blocks? there can actually be more than just 3 ways to orient the cube to bandage, instead of changing the face, maybe change the orientation of the face.

I think 'red' has a negative connotation in Japan. Shameful dishonesty can be called 'a deep-red lie.'

In 1998 I read Sony Japan tries to avoid red colored status lights on their computers, so I always look for red lights on their VAIO computers. Sure enough, they never have any red status lights. When the industry uses red to indicate a particular state (such as ACPI suspend) Sony uses orange.

I think 'Rose of Wander' is a nice name. It emphasizes the beauty of red. It's pure.

Hi ! I'd name it after a great David Sylvian song: wanderlust 8-)

And yes i found out that many others (Bjørk, Knopfler ...) also have a song of same name

Makes sense, but even the Japanese flag has red on it.

I agree though, I still haven't voted but the rose of wander does give a feeling similar to the others in the set.

I appended two items, "Rose garden of Wander", and "Garden of Wander".
Former is some persons requested item, and latter is a little shorty name of the former.

By the way, my better vote is "Rose garden of Wander" now. ;)

And I'm making "Forest of Wander"'s axes changed variation now.
I'll finish it by silver, and really make the "Mirror of Wander". ;)
