This post was originally titled "guess the puzzle"

I have often said that I think every possible puzzle should be made at least once however unexciting it is. That's my excuse for producing just another Siamese puzzle.
I chose to build it the way I did because I knew I would get to see a nice view of the inside. I had to make the joining squares slightly over sized. This was to prevent stickers getting caught when slices close to the other cube are rotated. I am pretty sure it won't lock up because of the join so it works quite well. I never removed the 'clicks'.

It starting from a 6x6. Notice that there's a cut extending out from the center of those T shaped pieces? (very short at the top and bottom edges)

Yea, seems like a ball in a cube, but that seems like a fairly hard mod

But making a V7 into a cube might be it =D

that was my first thought, too.

Though, that would be a teraminx, wouldn't it? That's been made already.

The fact that he showed us a mech picture as a clue tells us that it probably isn't simply an exterior mod...

hmmmm....

I feel like agreeing with GameCuber101:

Any idea when you'll reveal this apparently "simple" mod?

I think It is a cut of a 7x7x7, like the fishercube. But deeper than a regular fisher cube because we see the 2 centers. So I guess that the final result is a ficher cube that do not need extensions. ( in this case, the bottom and the top just be cut too to make a regular cube)

Maybe

i think he means rhombic dodecahedron so it is made from a 7x7x7 not a custom mech

I think it is a V-6 octagonal prism, although it could be a F-6. The picture is cropped so it could be either one.

Either way it will be amazing!

6x6 or 7x7 truncated trajber's octahedron? :?:
I bet it's not even a v-cube transformation and you took a confusing photo of a simple puzzle!

i'd go with that. A 3x3 rhombic dodecahedron would lessen the amount of movable parts, somewhat being 'simple'...

Why shouldn't it be a V-V cube? (i.e. void V-cube)

I was wondering why you went 3x3 on the connecting cubes part? I kind a gather the 2x2 and the 1x1 would naturally be week. I do have a Siamese 4x4 cube (1x1x4 connecting part)and a Siamese 5x5 cube (1x1x5 connecting part).

BTW: Tyler Robbins built both them.

How about a fused 6x6x6 cube next?

I was wondering the same thing. Do you have some sort of deal with the V-cube inventors? I'd be surprised if they hadn't heard of you by now. They must be proud to see the great things you are doing with their inventions.

Lol. I was merely trying to suggest that the pillowing would make it a lot harder to properly fit two cubes together.

Thanks.
I buy my V-Cubes just like everyone else and at the same price.
I have considered a Siamese 7x7x7s but obviously the pillowing will cause problems. I think there will be very narrow parts of cubies which would look ugly unstickered but too small to sticker.
