Another one of Puzzlemaster Adam's wonderful creations.

I've been pouring pieces for this one in between axis cubes. I didn't realize I had a whole set of pieces, so I just threw this together. I love this puzzle. It's so simple looking when it's completed, and so freakin' intimidating when it's scrambled. I think it looks scarier than the axis cube in a scrambled state. You be the judge.

Sorry for the rough stickers. For some reason, when I get the sticker templates from Adam, the corners are jagged (not his fault, it's how the CAD program exports them). I didn't have a chance to redo the corners with curves in AI, and wanted to get this stickered to see how it looks, so I cut them the way they were. They don't weed well when they're jagged.

I will also be building TomZ's triangular prism later in the month. I'll post photos of that one with some comparisons when it's done.

Nah, I think a scrambled Axis Cube is still scarier, but that's just my opinion.

Not easily! This one and the axis cube are very difficult puzzles to cast clean pieces. For the most part, I am using Drew's 2-part pour method, but for some of the larger pieces, I am using pour holes.

I just want to know how you are affording to have all these masters printed! It's quite an expensive process, no?

It's straining on the pocket book, no doubt. That's why I decided to sell the axis cubes. I need money to support my bad habits.
I'd like to be able to afford some of the really amazing puzzles like the 24 cube, teraminx, etc. some day.

Oh, and by the way, I have another puzzle in the works that will rival the ones I've already done. I am really excited to get it printed and made soon.

Do you use white alumilite for those pieces? They came out flawless! I love the look of a clean white plastic puzzle. This thing looks amazing.

Also, what do you use for your sticker templates? Do you have a stika (?) machine to cut your stickers for you? I never realized how gruesome stickering can be until last night. Now I'm considering alternate cutting/drafting methods to sticker my next mods with.

When buy the STL files from Adam (Puzzlemaster), he provides a sticker template in AI (adobe illustrator) format. Yea, I have a vinyl cutter. It's a USCutter 12" Refine cutter. It's like a stika, but a little more industrial. For those puzzles I don't have a template for, I actually lay the puzzle on my scanner, take the JPG image of the puzzle, import it into Adobe Illustrator, then trace the outline to make my own templates. I did that with a few of my puzzles.

I like this puzzle a lot, but I think I still like the axis cube better.

now I want these files too! stop making all these great puzzles, you make me wnt them all!

Flambore.... oh my gosh flambore, I think you've like hypnotized me to buy your puzzles or something...
Now I want a triangular prism! But, I will control myself, I'll wait till I actually make a profit before signing up for puzzle lists. Good job though! Why does this puzzle have to be shape shifting and the sides on a croked axis turn though? Couldn't there be a triangular prism that was made straight on the axis? like, sides that look like an ordinary rubik's cube, but only 5? Or would that prevent 90 degree turns? Nothing wrong with the way it is, just wondering why it hasn't been done on a straight axis.

This one is designed this way because that's how Adam made it. I think it's very unique in that way. The kind you described was designed by Scott Bedard and also TomZ, and probably a few others (I know someone else who is working on this, but I won't mention his name because he hasn't announced it yet). I have the STL files for Tom's version, and will be getting that one printed this weekend most likely.

Ok, well, I think both versions would be great to have, I personally lean towards this one more, but then again I also like the design of a symmetrically turning puzzle, when I get the money I'll probably buy both types.

I think the Axis cube is still more intimidating. Its difficult to tell where the centers lie on an Axis cube but with the Triangular Prism they stand out more to me.

To me, the centers are the only thing that stand out on the Axis cube.
Both puzzles are terrifying, though!
