Just in time for DCD here is Thomas Cube. It's made from plastic sheet, so it's rather light. Dimensions are 8x8x8cm. I'm sure you can see what mechanism I used. It looks a bit like Dragan's Power Box. But my design is very symmetric. It only uses 2 different pieces. Okay 4, but 2 of them are mirror images. It's a bit like how my Thomas Skewb (previously known as Thomas' Cube) reminded some of Tony Fisher's Golden Cube. Can anyone think of a cool name? Thomas edit: I renamed this puzzle Thomas Cube.

Congrats Thomas Your Puzzle is very well made! The colours give to the puzzle a lot of energy and joy. Is the puzzle in your avatar your creation also? (Thomas Cube 1) Continue that beautiful work! ,Dragan

Clever design. I like the fact that there are only 2 types of piece.
The quality looks excellent.
Thomas Cube 2, "The Tewb". Not very cool, but it's all I can think of.

It has a pleasing symmetry, to echo some of the comments above.

Ah! The famous Thomas Cube II appears at last! Lovely, good job! Edit Justin B wrote: Wow! You must like Skewb mods! Amazing job; keep up the great work! I have just had a chance to have a longer look at this and it REALLY DOES look like a skewb mod at first glance, very clever.... but I think it may be something else.... Tim

Wonderful puzzle! The 8th picture reminds me of a square-1.

Thanks for the compliments. It's indeed not a Skewb mod, but of a 2x2x2. I was pleasantly surprised to find this. As you can see the cutting planes are placed very elegantly. One cuts like a Little Chop/24-Cube and another cuts like a Skewb. These are the same as on Aleh's Kite Cube I. And of course 2 of the 6 sides look like a Kite Cube I. It is also similar to Sayasala's recent mod. Although that puzzle is not a cube, and the internal 2x2x2 is positioned a little bit different. Thomas

Excellent choice of names. I don't have much luck guessing puzzle mechs. If I slowed down and actually counted the number of puzzle pieces before posting, it would help
