...make up a very nice mayhem of gears. It still has some issues; if you try to turn more than 4 or 5 wheels, turning will become very hard. I hope to adress this issue tomorrow, when I will try lasercutting some new sheets. It isn't really functional due to this but I think this can be resolved soon. I just wanted to share this picture with you as I thought the gears looked very intresting through the acrylic. If I can get reasonable movement, I will sell some DIY kits at the DCD. These kits will consist of the acrylic and screws needed to make the puzzle, but you will need to gather 2 1/4 clocks yourself. If you would be intrested in buying such a kit at around €25, please let me know by posting here or by PM. If you are not coming to the DCD you may leave a message as well, but please indicate you're not coming to the DCD.

I won't be at DCD, but I would definately be interested provided you can figure out how to get it to be fully functional. Thanks, and excellent work! I'm in the states by the way.

Congratulations on a very interesting custom build. Do the gears and shift buttons still "click" into place? (I don't know if this feature is part of the case or the parts.)
Also, an interesting option to chopping up 2.5 clocks is to model the different gear parts, and offer STL files for printing/casting.

Steryne wrote: mech pic's please? That made me lol! It's made from transparent acrylic... The mech is obvious anyways. I haven't had much luck finetuning the clock. I've made two new ones, but they can't turn very well either. I might just try some lube later on today. It does turn, but with alot of effort. Maybe I should just make the outer wheels bigger? Or introduce some kind of gearing so you don't have to use as much force?
