I have never seen a Rubik type bank before other than the sliding can puzzles. This features star wars pictures. This is not a true rubik's item, but more like the pro cubes that twist and fold into different pictures. When you change the picture the opening to the bank dissapears from view.

How do you know that it is a russian mechanism? I see that the seller is from Russia, but is there anything else that identifies it.

Dodd, the third picture (mid-twist) in the auction shows some internals. While I can't be sure until I see it for myself, it's very much alike to the one discussed in this old topic: viewtopic.php?t=2219 Another obvious detail is indented dots, as compared to painted dots.
Actually, I realized that myself only when I was setting up a bid for the spindle Domino 15 minutes before the auction's end. It clicked with me that there is something unusual about the other Domino. I remembered the third (russian) mechanism existed. So I found the topic mentioned above, and looked at the photos there.
Well, obviously, it's even in the database!

Aleksey, I very much regret, that you have interrupted mine bid because it is valid a domino with russian mechanism . I was ready to pay $183 as I know, that it is a domino the best of the best. (I have one precisely same). I congratulate on successful purchase.

Can't find the link but I'm sure most of you'll know what I mean when I mention the white plastic "Dino cube" knock-off that was on ebay a couple days ago, listed by veni*vidi*vici, or similar, (won by one of the TP.com 'crew', I won't say who, to respect his privacy). I missed the auction cause my intyweb was on the blink at the time.
Anyhoo, what was the deal with the price?? Yes, it was a knockoff, yes, it was probably the cubing equivalent of an early model Pinto, but $11.50?! Surely the novelty of a replica (in white, no less) makes it more desireable than just the two bids it got? If my net hadn't gone down when it did...
Any chance of **** (the winner, you know who you are) trading it/selling it on (for way more than $11.50, of course)? * hopeful grin*

Do you think it's a twisty puzzle? It's not. You disassemble it and put it back together. Boring

Ahhhh. That explains it. Yep. Boring. I hate disassembly puzzles. $11.50? You were had, mate!

It looks like a gyro cube. The deluxe, unless it's been modified, doesn't have green next to yellow.
One of those auctions did have a deluxe in it.

This auction contained a rare 4x8 whippit puzzle. Most whippit puzzles only have 6 colors. This is only the second one of these that I have seen.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=5989428808&ssPageName=ADME:B:TB6:US:2
I know whippits come in different shapes and heights. I lost a bid on this one a while back. I have never seen a hexagonal 4x6 like this before.

Whoops! My apologies. That's not what I saw the first time I used that link. Hmm.
This is a very nice web site. Nice collection! I especially like the quilty-looking mod on página 13. Nice mods, too. And three sizes of 3x3x3 balls. It's lovely to see puzzle information in Spanish.
I am very sorry for my too-quick judgement. I hit that link twice, and ended up somewhere else.

Hi Carter,
We hit the link probably around the same time.
At that moment the site had reached the data transfer limit per day.
So what you saw was a page saying that, but the page was looking like an ordinary advertisement page (=garbage).
Have fun,
Ron

I wanted the sealed Entrapment (never saw one on eBay before), and the sealed Mad Marbles. Would not mind a boxed Starburst by Entex, but that's secondary.

Actually that's not just a joke. There are people out there who don't bid their maximum bid but make like 20 bids in $1 steps. And when the identities aren't shown, you might think there are lots of people interested in the item. And I believe there are people out there who bid high just because they see lots of other bidders.
Well, of course it could also be an even bigger trick of the seller. Maybe he pushed his own auction by bidding himself with a fake account. Recently in German Ebay a Potter Magic sold for I think 25 Euros and well, the sole bidder had a single feedback, two years old, from the very same seller. Coincidence? I don't think so.

The seller of the first and the third was a bidder on the second. He did not win, but ultimately, I guess that's how you turn profit!

I noticed that too. I thought maybe he was trying to replace one, but I think you're right. By having a high reserve on his two, and bidding on another one, he did raise the price.

Remember to write the winning bids as well, otherwise in 3 months when Ebay deletes the auction this information will be lost.
