Ben wrote: I won this lot just now: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=370187556639It comes with a Wonderful Puzzler keychain w/ box, 4 Rubik's brand keychain cubes, and what appears to be new Kibble Cube in package. I haven't seen this type of packaging before. Is there anything special, or is it just an ordinary Kibble Cube? -Ben HOLY [Censored. Please be nice!]!!!!!!!! About two years ago I won a full box of 3x3 keychains from this seller. I paid around $200 +shipping for it, and the package never arrived. I was told by the seller that I should wait longer, and I was fool since I waited, so the 3 months to claim expired. Now I see what happened with my box. I lost 250$ and the seller waited and re-sold the items that should be mine now. I'll contact ebay.

Recently won this. Bought it mainly for the cuboctahedron. Anyone know anything about it or the other 3x3's?

I wish I could get one!
I'm thinking up a puzzle like it, I'd call it the AstroLabyrinth. That'd be pretty cool.

Dino Star... for $207.50 I was one of the last bidders ont hat too. My max bid was $200, and I didn't pay attention to it because I assumed it would go for alot more, but it didn't, and I saw within 10 minutes of the end of the auction how little I lsot by. I was so mad when I saw the winning bid.

It's a good old-fashioned Politoys English version magic cube for a very interesting price, seeing how good the box looks.

Seeing as orb-it's were rising lately, going for 50 dollar for a poor condition no packaging one up to 100-150 for one in packaging, I think I got quite a good deal with a mint on in opened packaging for 30 dollars http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0144620630

Nice job on that lot, Katsmom, I've been watching that one for over 5 days now, and I saw that you were bidding and have an extra one ready to go... so I figured that I won't bother I saw quite a few of them that was to my liking, the Turnstile, Backspin, Ten Billion Barrel. There have been quite a few nice puzzles that went REALLY cheap these past couple weeks, but I was not fast enough or online for all of them (except one) and they went really quickly. I was particularly upset at missing one though (although there were 4 or 5 that I would probably have killed for!)

TomZ wrote: PotatoSpades22095, I don't think you quite understand how ebay works. If the winning price is X over your maximum bid, you didn't actually loose by X-maximum bid. You could just as well have lost by X-maximum bid+some crazy amount. It's all due to the auto incrementing system - it makes your bid just high enough to beat the other people's bids given that it is still under your maximum bid. I did know that, but I didn't take that into consideration. I probably should before posting about it. @ben, if you don't mind me asking, what was your maximum bid? (sorry if this is a rude question)

PotatoSpades22095, I actually was not a bidder on that auction, but another TP forum member was. You might be able to find him in the Marketplace forum. I just saw what it sold for and posted it. Had I the money and less-worrisome parents, I would have probably pursued it. My parents always get on my case about buying even semi-expensive puzzles... So I usually sell a few pieces from my collection once in a while to 'prove' that puzzles do have value. But if it makes them more comfortable letting me buy puzzles, I guess it's a worthy cause Wow, two spindle dominoes in short period of time... Value-wise, are they much more valuable or are they just more desirable? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320376129513&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT&salenotsupportedA new-in-package Ultimate Cube for $9.50

Besides, I would never want to have a sealed puzzle for which I had no duplicate and to never try it out. That would defeat the purpose of the existence of the puzzle. Pantazis

Most I can take out of their cardboard boxes to play with, of the sealed ones I have doubles to play with. Luckily we do not all have the same targets.

Most I can take out of their cardboard boxes to play with, of the sealed ones I have doubles to play with. Luckily we do not all have the same targets. Still, the purpose of a puzzle is to be played with. An antique is something to look forever and do nothing (and occasionally clean). And not always we can have duplicates anyway, which is the case for the super rare puzzles. Photos are good to look at, but that, or even a 3D virtual gallery will never be enough for someone who really wants to try out the puzzle and then solve it, which is the reason of the puzzle's existence. So it is not about my target or your target. It is about *why* a puzzle has been brought to the real world. Was is brought to exist as an antique? No. It was brought to bring solving fun. All the rest belong to different reasoning which is as rare as the rare puzzles themselves. Pantazis

Now wait a minute here! My desk is a queen anne, my hutch is 1880's both are what I would call antiques and both are well used! Oh, you were talking about puzzles I agree 100% they are made for playing with. And FYI, I was bidding on that one, but when the price got to what I paid for one just last week, I um...stopped bidding! Nice find. Did you see the other one????
