katsmom: Ebay.com (US) does not pull auctions coming from foreign ebays? Maybe this is why I'm missing all these great finds you guys get. Danny: I missed the Russian flower since I slept past my alarm, or you would have had more competition as well 6am, too early >_>

Wow, I'm surprised at how much competition I should have had. I was planning on staying up to watch it, but with an hour and a half to go and no bids for a while, I just went to bed and figured I'd either get it or I wouldn't.

Rox, that's actually listed as a valid reason to retract a bid. ebay policy wrote: [You may retract a bid if] You accidentally entered the wrong bid amount due to a typographical error. For instance, you bid $99.50 instead of $9.95. If this occurs, you must reenter the correct bid amount immediately after you retract your bid. Changing your mind is not a typographical error. source: http://pages.ebay.com/help/buy/bid-retract.html

Thanks Danny, I didn't realize that. But I don't think that would work after winning, and I have purchased a number of puzzles from that seller before and wouldn't want to have him ban me from bidding on his auctions again. I'll just have to be more careful next time and stop talking about strawberries.

Yes, I realize that this doesn't help much for that auction. It was just meant so that you now know for the future if that happens again.

Actually, that's exactly why I didn't bid on it: because I assumed it was self-made. If you look in the middle of the puzzle (where the two would join) you can see what appears to be (at least to me) a separation line.

I was fooled by the 'separation line' in the beginning, but this seems to me to be where the puzzle is a little bit more loose in the centre. These lines are part of the puzzle (I have several to look at . It's because I never saw one of these that I'm curious. Hopefully you will own now a very rare 'unique' item Rox.

Well I don't have a Varikon so I'll take your word for it. I'm now very interested too

Based on the eBay photo I'm seeing, I don't see how it could be anything but a homemade mod put together from two 5-row Varikon puzzles. I don't have solid proof from the listing, but I also don't see the financial motivation for any company to mass-produce a Varikon of this size. This doesn't seem to have any mass appeal.

There exists a seven row Varikon, but it is differently shaped (not like the one Rox got). As well as a 4 row version. That's why I am so curious. Here the one Rox won for immediate comparison: Attachment:

I still miss the 5 row Varikon in my collection though.

Yeah, I'd say it's a good deal. It would have been even better if it were packaged.

I won this lot just now: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=370187556639It comes with a Wonderful Puzzler keychain w/ box, 4 Rubik's brand keychain cubes, and what appears to be new Kibble Cube in package. I haven't seen this type of packaging before. Is there anything special, or is it just an ordinary Kibble Cube? -Ben

Unfortunately I threw the packaging away, and traded the cube. This picture stirred memories, because I didn't know the square container packaging, only this one.

I just bought this: http://cgi.ebay.nl/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... IBSA:NL:11And I have not been able to find much info on it, how does it work? what is the objective? The condition might not be the greatest, but I think at 18 euro's I payed a reasonable price and I am happy with it

Danny Devitt wrote: Why so, Bryan? Go to the bidding history, and then scroll down to bid retractions. The bidder (with a feedback of 1) retracted a $2,000 bid, two $3,000 bids, and a $10,000 bid (and the fact that 3 off the bidding errors are within minutes of each other). Sorry, you don't "accidentally" enter bids wrong that many times. And if this person was even a minor interested puzzle collector, I'm guessing they'd have more than a single feedback.

On GCD there were three so called Dino Stars offered for 350 € / piece. The colours were red, white and orange. Below is a small picture of the red one.

I see the Homer head often, but haven't seen a Bart one on ebay for a while. The puzzle is only worth what the buyer is willing to pay.
