As the name of this thread suggests, this is basically a way to see which one of us has the largest collection. I know of at least 4 or 5 members who have whole rooms of puzzles, and want to know who has the most unique variations of puzzles. I currently own about 120, which to some of you is a lot, and to others it is a size that is laughable. I also would like pictures for proof of size. My three pictures are below. Now you can start with your collections. Also, if you don't have a huge collection, still feel free to share it in this thread or in the collections section of this website. And just in case you're wondering, my Eitan's Star is at a fellow cuber's place this weekend. Normally it sits by the pyraminxes. And yes, I have a guitar, but haven't played it in a while.

This will be my 500th post on this forum! I thought it should be a little special!

Well the 2 largest collections in the world belong firstly to James Dalgetty who's personal collection forms the Puzzle Museum in Devon UK - there are at least 69,000 puzzles when I last visited and he will let people play with them! I have spent quite a lot of happy time there. And yes his wife is an absolute saint!

Secondly Jerry Slocum's collection of about 30,000 puzzles if part of the Lilly library in Bloomington, Indiana.

My rather modest collection consists of just over 800 puzzles (I haven't got my database up to date at the moment) of which only about 140 are twisties! Pictures of my collection? These are from the beginning of the year and show most but not all of them.

Main shelves above desk:

Shelves left of desk (yes the cricket bat is one of my rarest and valuable puzzles):

Shelves right of desk:

Cupboard in study:

Ahem!! A few of them seem to have spilled over into the living room!!!!:

There have been an unspecified number purchased since then and I can't possibly say when they will arrive!!!

Thanks!

Those pictures don't show the 3 very deep drawers absolutely stuffed with wire puzzles, plastic puzzles and Hanayama puzzles! Probably another 200 of them in total!

Maybe it's become an obsession?

Nice to see that I can find the Burgh Lock between all those puzzles :)
Orange was definitely a good choice for that.

To stay on topic: I've about 20 puzzles or so (apart from some prototypes for my own puzzles). So I'm not even a large collector within a few miles. I know a collector nearby that already has many more.

I wish I was allowed dedicated puzzle storage in one of our larger rooms but when I mention it she gets the laser stare out and presses very hard on my thumbprint!

Can one count? (Those shelves are 1 foot deep by 1 1/2 feet high) That's only one wall. Forget the other and under the bed and out on the balcony and.....

The latest puzzler to visit my bedroom puzzle haven. Sorry Hendrik, You're the most recent guinea pig-Keke aside

Laurie Brokenshire in the UK has a collection of almost 10,000+

Laurie, 56, is a retired Navy commodore and one of Britain's premier puzzle collectors.

Checked out a few of these high number collections and a lot are padded out with assembly puzzles.

I have 900+ puzzles, with the distinction that 98% of them are twisty, moving bead or moving tile. It's my policy not to collect branded/theme sticker rubik cubes either so I only have about 5 of these. So nearly every puzzle is unique or different for reasons other than custom stickers.

Is your question restricted to twisty puzzles?
If yes there is this feature of this website:
http://twistypuzzles.com/cgi-bin/cm-lis ... order=DESC
There you can find the answer for me.

[moderators rant]
Sadly, some entries are outdated and some main collectors never took up the challenge to enter their collection.
It would help me a lot if everyone did this and send me images of items missing in the museum.
