Hello fellow collectors,
My wife bought this Brady Bunch cube for me about 10 years ago in a small shop in San Francisco.
To be honest, I was never very drawn to the craftsmanship of this sticker mod, but in recent years there has been a rise in hand-made mods that feature small imperfections; some are okay, some are very nice... Sometimes such mods become works of art because of their uniqueness and artistic appeal (Heiowge's amazing Borg cubes come to mind).
So, today I took this cube out of storage and I want to share it with you hoping that somebody has information about it... Who was the artist? When was this made? What was the brand of the original cube?
It seems that the drawings where photocopied because they all look the same from face to face. The stickers are clearly cut by hand and they are painted with some sort of translucent paint. The whole thing seems finished with some sort of varnish.
My wish is that somebody will tell me that a great metagrobologist from the 70s made this mod. That would make the puzzle a very unique piece and maybe it will start a bidding war among collectors.
Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Skarabajo.
