In the first picture to the left of the Wahn regarding the 3x3x3 Rubik's Cube in the plastic cylinder could you please tell me what country the cube was manufactured or assembled in. I've seen examples where the red side was next to the orange side in the boxed version but never in the plastic cylinder which was a pleasant surprise. Thank you in advance for any information you can provide.

Yes the cube interesting!
I just haven't seen this option before.

But it's not even an interesting layout colors of stickers, and so that the stickers do not round the corners and sharp-angled. These stickers were always the first cube, 1977 and 1978 some subsequent year from Politechnika.

The cube came from the United States, it does not have a logo on the label, and the box has a standard lettering similar boxes, 1980 Edition in English.

I can suggest that a portion of the old cubes was packed in new packaging of Ideal and was exported to America from Hungary in the first shipments, up to reputed cardboard boxes with transparent film. I do not exclude the possibility of spoofing and packing cubes. Golden Ribbon slightly lifted in place.

More seasoned collectors, hope will tell more about this version of the Rubik's cube.

This is most impressive.
Can you send me a single image of the back side of TRIO's packaging?
Can you send me a single image of the five flowers to show here?

I start to hate soviet puzzles because of the their many different variants ...

I didn't make my point clear enough.
I know about that other thread and I will use the images for the museum. I asked you because you have another version with a different colored body. Therefore I want to add an image of your variant in addition to the others.

Every time you post here I find something I have never seen before.
Amazing!

Do you want to help me (and the museum) again?
This time I ask for an images of
  • The black gamma
  • The festival flower with green body
  • The Alexander Star IN the packaging
Thank you in advance

EDIT: Entered the name of the missing puzzle

I'm excited to surprise you!

Andreas, I'm sorry, I don't understand what the last photo puzzles you need? Check please.

I do have them on the balcony during the day when the Sun is at the zenith. On weekdays I work days and come home in the evening, 8:0 pm when the Sun is in the wrong place for shooting and weak. Look, I can make the photo next weekend a week or before, but only with a built-in Flash and lights on puzzle.

Stupid me!
I meant the "Alexander Star" in its packaging.

You can use the flash. The background is more important and yours is good.

Nice puzzles. What is the following one? In the first picture, right hand side, about in the middle, with the discs/rivets sliding in the M shaped groove of the white plasitc board, somewhat similar to a Panex?

Can you please post a bigger picture of this puzzle? Thanks :)

martywolfman, that is a good observation, and that's why I am interested to know more. Towers of Hanoi, Panex, this puzzle, Rudenko Clips , Rudenko Disk, they all are similar from a mathematical standpoint, and there are many, many more in this group. It seems that here we have some packaging to come with this puzzle to tell us more -- the orange cardboard beneath it.

Yes, you're right, this is one of the many versions of an ancient tower of Hanoi puzzle.

This is a variant of the USSR 80-ies.

Very simple puzzle.

This time I have only one question for the first image:
Is the puzzle in the middle a 2x2x2? I am not sure, because one cubie seems to slide out somehow.
Can I hvae some images from it and the packages?

Oh, Yes! I was waiting for the question about this my discovery. It really is 2x2x2 cube. It was packaged and sold disassembled, as designer.
On appearance of the lot, it was difficult to understand what this puzzle and it is 2x2x2 cube, but I took a chance and bought it. Previously, I have not seen it on the photo and my friends collectors haven't heard about him.
Perhaps someone saw a photo tells about it in detail.

Wow, great collection you got. Would love to see a collection solve  :P .
If I looked closely enough you have every puzzle of my 60-size puzzle collection, except for the Gear Cube Extreme. (And you're also missing the Gear Cube Ultimate.)

You even have my two picture 15 puzzles from which I couldn't find anything on the internet, except that the company that made them (Pussy / Pussycat) is located in Germany. These puzzles are displayed at your picture number 34; the Red Ladybug and the Blue Foot. If you have any more information about them I would appreciate it.

Keep up the collection and the new images. It's great to see your newest collectibles being added.

PS: How many puzzles do you have at the moment, and if it's not too bold to ask, how many did all of those cost you ?
PSS: I would solve those which are scrambled in the pictures, they kinda stand out too much in my opinion.

Thanks in advance for the response,

Greetz,
Quuuador

Thank you Phillip13.
I am afraid I have more questions about this strange and old item.
How many rings are there? In one image I can count 9 (?) orange rings, 8 in red and 4 in blue.
Does the leaflet tell you anything about the year?
Iam sure somebody on the forum can translate it if you can't read it.

In the photo all the rings, plus one white, red and blue for in the package. I did not get. In the photo are visible still all white and yellow rings.

It seems there is nothing about a leaflet the year of issue. It's just manual puzzle. Today I'll post it up and scan the photo here.
But the inscription Politoys suggests that this production the end of 70 's, early 80 's.

If I'm right, the leaflet is in Hungarian.
I can try to translate it, if you need. I just need a photo of it.

It was not easy, but here's what I could translate.

See all the location on the image.

Politoys FordulĂł - This is the name of the puzzle I assume
FordulĂł means: Twisting / turning (but it also mean next round) ;)

Puzzle ... (?descripotion?)

The puzzle 2,3,4 or ... (maybe it is about how many players can play)

The aim of the puzzle:
On one sides of the puzzle...
apart of the chosen color...
The player ... using the Joker...
Meaning ... are the following...
- 4 own (? color???)
- 3 own
- 2 own
- 1 own

Rules:
1./ Division of the markers...
...

“Do it yourself!” Un assmbled dexterity - entertaning puzzle (game)

That is a lot of new puzzles!

What is the black puzzle on the bottom left of the 2nd picture? It looks a bit like a Whirligig but different.
Also, I have never seen blue billion barrels before - were they made by Nintendo?

And finally please tell me where you are finding all of these rare puzzles every month ( I am beginning to think you are just very good at photoshop  /joke)

Hi,
Zzupler is right. This are impressive news.
I see a lot of things I want to ask you for help.

For these four puzzle I ask for detailed images including the packages.
For Rubik's Welt I need only images of the puzzle within the packaging.

For your second image I would like to know:
What do you know about the puzzle in the bottomleft corner?
What do you know about the puzzle in the bottomright corner?
For both puzzles I ask for images (front and back).
I ask for images of the "Kirin Lemon" can.

I second Zzupler's question about the nintendo barrel.

Andreas

Andreas, Kevin: the Nintendo barrel is the USSR version. It came in the same tube packaging with the clear top as the original, but the bottom was of the same emerald-ish color.

This is an old, present and only Astrolabacus.
The one that we are promised for two years now, I never will.
I took the money for it, and I advise everyone to do.

This Russian Magic puzzle. There were several options. They differ from the known to me from both sides was the right figure.

Below is a link to all known variants with pictures and presentation in the package.

This is a rare Soviet puzzle made in Riga. It's called "Squaring the circle" (Kvadratura Kruga).
I have a puzzle without packing, but below I give a link to a topic where there are photos of the packaging.

Barrel well answered Aleksey.

How do I find so much rare puzzles? It's a great story, but it's hard for me to write it in English. In short, me and my wife like this and we tried. A long, but in Russian
the history of my collection is described here in the first post.

I do not have photoshop. I use Corel PHOTO-PAINT program and several other programs. :) But all the photo galleries I publish acquisitions without processing immediately from the camera. You can see this by downloading any of the files and checking its properties.

Hi Phillip,
thank you for the links. Especially the first is very useful for me.

And thank you Aleksey. I wonder how many other treasures have to be revealed in soviet archives ...
