Hey everyone,

I'm getting a new room in a couple of weeks time, and I figured I need to do my collection some justice and get some proper display cabinets instead of the irregular shelving I have at the moment. The only problem is I can't find anything suitable to my needs. These are my requirements:

1) MUST be wall mounted. I need to have it on the wall; there's no where on the floor it can go.
2) At least 15cm deep, and a height of around 100cm.
3) Must look cool.
4) Cannot be stupidly expensive.
5) Must be able to ship to UK, without absurd shipping costs.

I've been searching for a while and I'm worried that my quest to find some awesome display cabinets may be fading fast. This is why I'm asking the forum, seeing as many of you have display cabinets and may be able to help me find a place to buy a few.

Many thanks!

Luke :)

Oh, and Konrad, I found the UK version of the website you showed me to buy display cabinets; thank you very much but there seems to be a lot of restrictions in design and in turn become too expensive.

Try Ikea. They may not have what you are looking for as a single purchase but maybe you can get a wall hanging shelf unit and then get some glass shelves and doors for it. Lights too!

You could always hire a carpenter to build them custom tailored to your needs (like kitchen cabinets without drawers), but that would likely be very expensive.

As I have said Ikea, look for my cabinet, depth 20 cm. The mine is on the ground, but can go hang. The video is bad and the cubes are messy, I'm working on a better video.

Read this post for some ideas. I believe both Georges and I have had good success with the Bertby, if it is still made.

Okay, a little update...

There's a chance I can get a floor mounted display case, which would slot behind my bed, however it would mean that it couldn't be very deep (the depth could be a maximum of 30cm). It also means that there can't be any 'display' area for the bottom 60cm of it (60cm is the height of the bed).

I haven't had much luck with IKEA either (the UK IKEA has very little as a whole).

I was looking at this from Ikea:

In order to maximise the storage I was going to buy some acrylic sheets and rods to make "sub shelves" without destroying the transparency.

Gus,

If you buy those cabinets and end up adding shelves they may end up looking something like this :

Sorry there aren't many Twisty puzzles in the picture, I'm currently re-organising my collection and expect to fill about one and a half cabinets with twisty puzzles once I am done.

I think my cabinets have the shelves placed a little too close together in some instances but they do look good and I had quite a few puzzles to pack in!

I bought mine from an Ebay seller who has done a pretty good job of welding on supports and getting glass shelves cut to fit.
