Today I got the third installment of my bi-monthly puzzle club. (Can't justify a puzzle of the month club) My husband brought the camera to China with him today so my pictures don't do this justice. I took them with my phone. I hope you enjoy them, I sure do! The first pictures are with the boxes. The packaging while simple is unique in itself. I love the little sticker that closes them, and the insert with the name of the puzzle and the web address and year help ensure I won't be throwing those away. Boxed front: Attachment:

Individual pictures of each. Please forgive the fingers. Elemental Neon: Attachment:

Once again, Dave did a fantastic job on these. It's turned into a bi-monthly surprise for me. As usual, my only requirement was that he wrote my name on it, dated it, and signed it. This one is excellent. I really didn't know what it looked like, the color, the plungers, nothing to be honest. I vaguely remember telling him in December that I wanted them all, but spaced out every other month. He has told me he will do each one a different color, but other than that, I like the surprises! I don't want to know. My bug took it as soon as it came in the house and said it was hers. She was so upset when she saw my name on the back-I may have to commission a pink one with her name and no skulls or funny elemental symbols for her birthday I can't wait until May for the next installment! Thanks for making a miserable day turn out great!

Nice series. I need to finish it, too. And I don't mind the fingers in the pictures.

Rox is a good patron of the arts and tends to get the first Deluxe version of puzzles (she pays most of my TechShop fees these days). For the Fluorine and Beryllium-10 she currently has the only Deluxe versions in fact, but I expect that to change over time. Here are my pictures of the Purple and Silver Deluxe Beryllium-10: The purple acrylic isn't transparent, just translucent so you don't get the backlit behavior like on the others, but you can see some light through single layers. I keep meaning to announce that Fluorine, Beryllium-10 and Sulfur are available for order, but never get around to it. Sigh. Argon and Phosphorus soon as well... OK Rox, Sulfur is up next. Then I have to find some pink acrylic for your bug... Dave

You've done a good job in reviving my interest in the elementals here The elemental is probably the only puzzle which attracted me with its aesthetics(Especially the Deluxe versions). I don't know whether my opportunity to see and touch one in person(Your blue neon) got to do with this, but I've nevered handled any other puzzle such cautiously(Apart from the fact it's a biohazard! ) Although I've already said this before two years ago, but I'm still sure I get one of these one day!(Probably after the "You-know-what-it-is" exam )

(This is your TP Mother shouting at you now) Get that Exam out of the way young man! You DON'T want the alternative!!!
Now that that is out of the way, I'll be at Smaz's tomorrow night with them. I have to show them to another young man I'm meeting. If you are around...............

Instead of posting a new thread I'll update here-It's no longer triplets. I've since added another member to the family Dave posted about this hereBecause it is for the bug's birthday, I looked at it, and hastily hid the puzzle away. We don't want her seeing it early now do we? Today I had a very nice young lady come to the house to get some shots of my puzzles and a bit of useless knowledge from me so while I was unboxing puzzles once again, I took the time to snap a few photos of my Litwin set. Enjoy Attachment:

Dave, it's the Florine that didn't come with the nifty stickers on the box. Would you be a dear and bring me a set?

This is very late in coming, but better late than never I would guess. Since 2008, I have had this deal going with David Litwin. I have been a member of the 'puzzle of the whim' club Ok, well maybe that isn't the best name for it. I've given Dave a standing order if you will. With the first order I said I liked blue. I wanted my name, the date he made the puzzle and his signature. The rest, I don't care-have fun. Well he did, and 6 puzzles later I present the entire set of Litwin Elemental Puzzles! First the puzzles in the packaging: Front Attachment:
litwin 2.jpg [ 67.86 KiB | Viewed 2292 times ]
and back. Attachment:
litwin 1.jpg [ 63.21 KiB | Viewed 2292 times ]
next the puzzles unboxed: Front Attachment:
litwin 3.jpg [ 58.67 KiB | Viewed 2292 times ]
and back. Attachment:
litwin 4.jpg [ 57.44 KiB | Viewed 2292 times ]
Top Row all photos: Elemental Neon #66, Elemental Fluorine #8, Elemental Beryllium-10 #7 Bottom Row all photos: Elemental Sulfur #4, Elemental Aluminum Heart #2, Elemental Argon #3. Technically, the heart isn't mine, but it is a part of the set, and the DIY kit for one puzzle is missing. It's still under the bed somewhere MIP waiting Georges to offer some insane price to take it off my hands. And since I'm such a great friend, you can see a video of how they work here.

elijah wrote: what exactly is the difference between the top layer elementals and their partners just below them? The bottom ones are related to the top in design. My initial designs minimized pieces, which means the plunger often blocks a move. The lower designs are extensions of the uppers where extra pieces are added which also unblocks things. The best example of this is by WVP, who actually is credited with first heading this direction by cutting up one of my Neon DIYs for his Neon Carbide. I redesigned the same idea and named it Sulfur. You might notice the Aluminum Heart is Fluorine only partially expanded. A full expansion hasn't yet been built. I was wrong higher up: It will be Scandium, not Phosphorus (adding only one extra piece doesn't unblock anything and is therefore pretty pointless). There is another, wider, heart configuration of Chlorine between Fluorine and Scandium, but I'm not sure it is worth exploring. I'll give Rox Septuplets yet, and perhaps some day make her Octomom! Wow, beautiful. I'm so jealous Probably the Flourine is my favorite. I really like the shade of green. A few suggestions for future puzzles to complete the puzzle spectrum: Radium (bright yellow) Carbon (transparent) Potassium (bright red) Or just for fun, Chromium, metallic silver with magnetic paint just a couple color ideas. --JC--
