It has been almost a year since I updated this thread Lots have happened in the last year's time. New ones has come and old ones has found new homes Here are some pictures I shot at the exhibiton today 20th October 2011 (I wish they had more shelves) And a few more things that irritates me about these pictures: -I couln'd keep my promise to Luke. I have not been able to solve all of the puzzles for the pictures. -The shop apparently rearranged the puzzles so now some of the 14 sided puzzles are with the 12 sided. And some puzzles are put on top of each other. They also added in another commercial Bump Cube. ( I dont like duplicates). -There is a big glass wall hindering acces to the puzzles, so when I added the a few more puzzles today I couldn't get them placed where I wanted. Well, enough talk, here are the pictures: Today (3rd of January) I recieved my 100th puzzle, the Vcube 7. So I found it fitting to record another video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cj4Ccsk78BQ__________________________________________________________________________ Today I recieved the puzzle I have been waiting for! I have been waiting for quite alot of puzzles, but this one have been a dream for so long. The Tutt's Icosaminx, built by Kuhrik. THANK YOU Kevin!! In honor of that I made an updated collection video (currently containing 94 black twisty puzzles) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTAqZWqJhq8I am ALMOST outta room! LOL Today I made some new shelfs (as suggested by Dave. Thanks Dave ) So I went from 3 to 7 shelfs. SO GREAT, that I even shot a new video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qUSuQb8Ev8plus, I have gotten two new cubes in the meantime. Can you find them? lol apparently I miscounted my collection at some point. maybe I counted duplications. Or I have lost some.. ??? today I recieved my puzzle #69, The 4x4x4 Trajbers Octahedron and in that honour of that I made an updated video of my collection http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crDPyAdTiDEI will add some more custom pieces soon.. so I might update this thread with a new video, once they arrive

its because one order is half of one puzzle! You will end up with an additional core tho. Trust me, the puzzle is really worth it!!! mizzle576 wrote: How come shapeways says i have to buy two of them? I only want one cube. How do I go about buying a dino skewb?

hmm, well... I really wish my collection was even close to yours, I'm thinking of splurging a few hundred dollars soon, but you have some very expensive and impressive puzzles in your collection... I just hope my collection is as extensive as yours within the reasonable future.

I have a question! Do you like the way I arrange my puzzles? Or would it look cooler if they were all mixed up in no cathegory at all??

I personally think you should have them all solved. I also prefer the way my collection is laid out; having the puzzles compressed in a smaller area. Makes it look like there are more puzzles. Again, this is me, but I think if you spread the collection onto two or three shelves.

Yes I am working on it! I got the Professor Pyraminx solved today! And I am worning on the Dino Skewb (HARD!!) as well as the Teraminx. boy I would die to have another cabinet right now! There are almost no more room for puzzles, and I have already used the space on the bottom (not even a shelf! ) what do you think about mixing up all the puzzles by shapes?

It's hard to tell, as our collections are quite different. You have rarer, single puzzles, where as I have quite a few twin set puzzles, making mine a bit easier to organize. I'm getting new shelves shortly, so hopefully my collection will be better looking.

I have a case similar to yours (roughly 1 foot cubed areas). What you need are mid-shelves for each. I cut some acrylic and posted it up on columns so I doubled my capacity with 6" per layer. Dave

In my opinion you've organised it very well! A lot better then before. I think my favourite shelf is the tetrahedron shelf. It looks so cool!

I have been collecting for some years now myself, what I like the most about your collection is that you have unique pieces. Its the same direction I take my own collection. In the start I bought all puzzles I could see. I bought most of the time 2-3 extra puzzles just to "have" them. But then I realized that I was starting to not feel so much for each individual puzzle. What I mean here I cared about the collection as a whole and not the puzzles themselves.
Now the last year I have decided to ONLY buy 1 puzzle of each kind. That puzzle will have a special spot in the collection, it will be very unique too. I packed away/sold all the puzzles that I already had.
You have a collection like this, very very beautiful. You should be proud of it.

Alex I truly loved that comment! thank you so much! I am glad we share the same view point on collecting! Today whenever I buy two of the same puzzle, then one is planned for a shapemod. I hate even having two 3x3x3s now.. I am really looking forward to the day when I can call my collection "complete" yet no I am not! it's such a funny feeling! I have a dream about opening my own puzzle museum some day. Thats why I want all the puzzles in the World. But, only the right ones - that fall into the same cathegory!

I have a very similar IKEA shelf, but you have a lot more shelves in it! I have lots of stacked puzzles, and empty space above puzzles.. Very nice puzzles!

Thank you for the comment! I think it might be the same cabinet. Remember I installed extra shelves, using custom cut glass. highly recommended and inevidable if you dont like to stack your puzzles! Using only those three shelves there is so much room left, its unbareable. remember to tell you glass-maker to sand off the edges of the glass. I learned that lesson the hard way!

But how did you make the supports in the metal frame that supports the glass plates?
BTW, I have two of those cabinets: one for twisty puzzles, and one for other kinds of puzzles. That one is overflowing as well.. Both cabinets contain about 90 puzzles

well I used some plastic wire holdsters. I got pretty lucky as they fit on their own. I didnt buy the for this. I had them on beforehand. I am sure you will find a way tho. I think duct tape could work on its own

Very nice collection Sigurd. But please can you make a collection video when they're all solved. My OCD kicks in where they're like that.
