While I was in Japan for IPP30 I spent some time visiting in Tokyo and of course had to drop by the famous Torito puzzle shop. I took a few pictures along the way.

Left: Torito is located in Akihabara, a Tokyo neighborhood known for its specialty shops, particularly electronics.
Right: The Torito sign from the street.

Left: The Torito sign at the building door.
Right: The door to Torito (5th floor). What lies within...

A whole section devoted to TwistyPuzzles.

I took the liberty of solving their display Rainbow Cube.
Image
...and enjoyed their non-Twisties as well.
Image
A few items set aside to purchase.

My final purchase. Note the DualRings was completely sold out. I was only able to get their display model.
The Tully's Coffee 2x2x3 was a freebie they threw in. It seems Tully's did a limited run of them as advertising, giving them away at their stores, so this is a rarity :)

Enjoy,

Dave

Careful with the cast puzzle, I got my cast equa, and after a month I still couldn't solve it (it's the only one I can't solve)

I've been on the run since returning from Tokyo. Thanks for posting the photos Dave. I'll have to show them to matt so he learns that I'm not the only one who bought too much in that shop! Nice haul!

I wish we had a store like that in the US.

I wish the interest was high enough in the US to keep a store like this alive.

I second that, I really would wish they had a puzzle store here at Florida too... :(

Sorry, I don't recall a super potato. From one of the Akihabara subway stations (not the JR line) it is directly up a fairly large street that crosses the main shopping avenue. I am sure you can find it if you look at a map, I believe they have one on their web site somewhere.

That is a very neat store!

Maybe a large metro area like Los Angeles, Seattle, Chicago or New York could support a shop like that. Heck, even Portland might work ... all those rainy days... ;^)
