Would anyone want to share tips on which (production, mostly) puzzles we want to buy now before the production run is fully sold out, so we don't have to buy it later at high cost from a fellow collector?

I would jump on getting a fisher's golden cube when they come out. Like alot of meffert's products, they don't sell them forever. Same with pyraminx crystal (i think you can still buy, but not for much longer and i am killing myself because pyramorphix was still around when i was a cuber but not anymore)

The one's that are available right now, in my opinion:
Meffert's 4x4 Twin Set (I believe they're limited, I'm not quite sure.) Void Cube (I feel as though they're getting harder and harder to find.) Anywhere you can find a PuckPuzzle, puzzlemaster.ca and puzl.co.uk both sell them.
Things coming in the future, I'd say, any Meffert's puzzles. Tony Fisher Golden Cube, Skewb Egg, Pyracue, etc.

DOGIC. 5 color with 11 color tile set. $59 is somewhat steep but it's better to pay $60 now than hundreds later.

LOL! That's more of a "you missed out" than a "you should get one".

ummm... http://torito.jp/shopping/search-e.cgi? ... ubepuzzlesWow, one site. I realize Torito has them, but I've tried to order from them, and it didn't work, just as it didn't for many others. They're extremely expensive on Ebay as well. I'm not saying they're all of a sudden dying out, but they're pretty pricey and difficult to get.

deffenitaly get some mefferts puzzles, they go fast, and take forever to restock, i would get the golden cube, and other new ones that are coming out, but also the magaminx would be smart to get.
also if you can get a pyraminx crystal, they are going to be rare ( i think)

Argh. I only thought about it for a couple of weeks, due to seriously pressing real-life concerns. And *of course* I'm now too late, when I go to actually order. I guess that means I won't be getting an icosahedron anytime soon. <edit> aliengrey wrote: Agreed about getting a Pyracrystal, they're also flat out awesome puzzles. Cubefans.com still has a dozen of them in stock. Right. And while I was dithering over whether to get the Pyraminx Crystal or the Dogic first, it appears actually *both* have sold out now. Double Argh. </edit>

I'm going to add *heads* when they come out. Gundam was such a short time on the market, Look at the cost of the WB heads now. Try and find a hamster. Mickey can be found everywhere, but where's Donald? And Morph? He's a slippery bugger and very shy.
I'll also add anything that is advertised as a limited set/run/edition because experience has taught me that they usually are limited. And later, I lament the price I've paid for them on ebay.

Any thoughts on when a whole bunch of different types of the same puzzle comes out? For instance, Mefferts has what, like 8 different eggs up for sale. I assume they're limited run, but will it be worth more to have the complete collection? Will there be more of certain colors? Will there be a shortage of a particular color? Will the "unpopular/ugly" ones be worth more? I'm kinda disappointed that there are so many, but I can sorta see the value in the having the whole set. I dunno, I'm on the fence about this one.

Quite a few years ago Mefferts released a bunch of puzzles that had keys with them. Bandaged cubes, mate type puzzles, some clear ones. I'll probably buy one of each of the eggs. Just because I don't want an incomplete set. To answer your question about "ugly" colors,it would kind of make sense that they wouldn't be worth as much because if they are ugly, people won't buy them so theoretically, they will still be in stock. When Meffert's released the WB heads,(I've written this before-no, I'm not getting senile) the Bugs Bunny was a hot seller. It was the only one that was gone when I went over to pick it up. All the rest had boxes of them behind the counter. It may be the same with the eggs. Who knows? I was just ordering from Meffert's site and I saw the professors tiled cubes are up again. This appears to be the same as the one listed under the collector's specials that are out of stock. I'll let you all know when they come in
