I just bought a white pyraminx from puzzleproz on ebay along with two awesome DIY cubes. The thing is, the pyraminx seemed a bit loose, and then it just kind of exploded!

Can someone please please please help me? I need to know whether or not to send it back for a new one.

Happened to my Meffert's Pyraminx too. It sucks. I can't really explain it, but this should help you:

Well, I tried to get the screw to appear, it seemed like it would be easy. But I think I just broke it. and the ball bearings and screws fell out of the core piece. Should I take all the ball bearings out?

Well that would not help you fix it. Like you said, what you want to do is to get the screw to appear, so you can screw it back in.

My tetraminx came out like that too, and it wouldn't screw back in; so I took it to the garage and pounded it back in with a large rubber mallet. It has stayed in great since then. :)

Hmm. I wish I would've known that before I took it apart. I'll do that if it ever comes apart again. Right now I'm trying to get a frickin spring back in its hole to secure one of the ball bearings.

Okay. All I have left to do is get this piece (Pic 2) back into this piece (pic 1). I just have to get the piece to push the springs back into their holes, and then it'll all work. If I can do this, I can fix my pyraminx. Any tips on how to do this?

My meffert's pyraminx is currently in this state, but two metal arms have come out of the core. At another time I had the third out too, but I fixed that, by doing the following...

Small drop of superglue inside the hole on ball core (careful!), get the pieces in formation, then using something heavy (I used my heaviest hammer), put a thick cloth or napkin folded many times on the tip to protect it and gently hammer it back into the core. Worked lovely.
