I just picked up a studio cube recently and took it apart to adjust the tension. I noticed that the part that has the screws going into it was not the normal white color, but a weird light green.

Is this normal, or is this studio cube fake?

By the way, the edges and corners do seem real (corners have the circle in the "hook" part"), but this one piece is seems abnormal.

It could possibly be a DIY with just the studio stickers, but i really dont think that is the case. Maybe the screws needed to be changed for like 1 day on the factory line, it could be a lot of thimgs.

I'm assuming you mean the core? My best guess is that either over time the core tinted somehow, or in the factory the plastic was somehow dyed green, and nobody cared

Since it is a studio, it should be pretty odvious if it is fake or not, i highly doubt someone would go that far out of their way to make a fake scam cube xD.

I did mean the core. I do doubt that someone would make a fake studio cube, but I just think that the green plastic is so weird. Plus, it was bought on ebay, so it is a possibility. I just needed some reassurance.

Anyways... I replace the core, springs, and screw with DIY stuff. Now I need to find my red center cap, which fell and was possibily transported to an alternate dimension, break in the cube, and lube it. I love flat centers.
