I just saw this episode but see it's already had a mention. Here's a pic anyway.

Last night I saw the Icelandic film, Noi Albinoi, about an albino Icelandic genius who easily solves a Rubik's Cube but fails miserably at school and in life. Quite arty and slow, but still interesting. I was surprised when the Puzzle came into the story, my wife thought I knew about it and somehow "influenced" her to choose the film, even though I wasn't even aware we had it.

At the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Hungary, the TV station RTL had just a 5x5x5 spotlight.

I think this is an advertising page for a party in Berlin. They use the cube as their logo. It shows the letters UVM. I couldn't stand the music enough to see if it's anywhere else.

There is a Pyraminx at 1:12 of La Roux's new song "Bulletproof" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUsbpmQ9-mc)

Nice find!

Quite a lot of twisty-esque action going on there. An exploding trigonal dipyramid at 2:31 and an exploding Bedlam Cube at 2:45. Some interesting shapes on the floor in the first 10 seconds too.

This is what a friend of mine found in a hotel room recently. She said the right one was apart and she solved it. I taught her that :) Wasn't it cute of her that she took the picture for me?

Thanks, I forgot to put that.

On my maths textbooks at school there is a picture of a colourless Alexander's star. Also, on the solids page there is a picture of a 3x3x3. Sorry I can't put up pictures.

Well, after being shown in Straits Times breaking news (Singapore's biggest newspaper)
the Cubedron has penetrated the Spring edition of our main University magazine Uniview too!
(Or here for direct link to the 3.6 Mb PDF file, turn to page 26).

I love the title which was used "All set to puzzle the world". :P
(but also expect some small mistakes, for example, there are no Toy Fairs in Prague!)

Those phone numbers (mine's and Siva's) are also available through the contacts pages of the
MindStrat Puzzles website. You may call me anytime! (But I can only answer when I am not sleeping,
cycling, lecturing, fishing abalone, or playing football!)

I was given this Kliban's Cats postcard yesterday:

Image

It sports the most unsolvable cube ever: a white-white-white corner, two yellow-yellow edge pieces (though one of them might be orange-orange), a red-red edge piece and the other three corners each have at least two same colors as well. I'm actually wondering why the center pieces are all of a different color.

Anyhow, it's nice to have friends who think of me when they see something with a Cube in/on it! :D

Most probably purely animation.
Also, the previous posts were constructed with an amount of sarcasm ;)

At last the mystery of the giant cube in Knoxville is explained.
Did it come from Hungary or didn't it, that was the question.
The answer is "no, it was made in the USA"

For the curious, here's a video of it's construction and final transportation to the 1982 World's Fair: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2T_8VwK-t4

I can't believe they got the colors wrong! (YB, OY, BO)

Skarabajo.

EDIT: Actually, if we consider the color configuration of the 80s, then they still got the colors wrong, but "less wrong" (YO, OY)
