Now that these puzzles are starting to spread like weeds, has anyone found interesting patterns for the Slim Tower yet?

(Notation: F B L R U D plus H for the Horizontal middle slice.)

Checkerboard for the long sides: R H2 F H2 R

For the short sides a checkerboard may be possible since a double corner swap is possible on the real cube but I haven't had a chance to ponder it.

Others?

Are 2x2x3 "slim towers" readily available from some source? I'd love to buy one if they're being sold.

I asked Mr. Wanatbe if they were sold in Japan. He responded that he knew someone who would custom make them for around $250. I guess you could ask him about ordering one, but I made my own for about $10 counting glue and parts. It's a pretty straight forward process.

Where are people getting these or are they making them themselves?

Kar was talking about these people:
http://csx.jp/~3dpuzzle/index.html
they want $250... kar meant them.
They make them from molds.
When i duplicate it, i will not charge crazy amounts like that. I will probably ask around $75 for the first 4 or 5, but dont quote me on that. It depends how long it takes me... I may just end up putting them on ebay.
Mine will be solid pieces... from molds, so they will be stronger than most people can make.
Jeremiah-
is there any gaps on your edge pieces? or did you fill them? Is there any "spring" if you press hard on one of the pieces?

How could anyone pay that much for something which costs a few bucks to make one of. especially as the site even says the quality and durability cant be guaranteed. youve got to be kidding!!!

yes there are gaps due to my spacers not being large enough. there is also a springyness due to the cut up (and weakened) inner mini cube. I've kicked around the idea of making another one, now that I'm somewhat wiser, but it would still be very similar because I do not have the ability to cast parts

Of course the cube is still a terrific puzzle considering that I have about $6-10 in it. I saved $240! The springiness is feeling better and better....
