How do i take this apart so i can reconstruct it?

You should have a plastic key where u insert and into the holes in the cubes to unlock or loosen the mechanism. Try it but don't break it :)

i have opened the covers, but i dont know what to do next. there are these pink plastic things

Now push against the 4 convex half-spherical prongs in the center cubie with the concave half-spherical surface of the key. This will push all 4 prongs together simultaneously and allow the center cubie to be removed from the spindle.

Meffert's usually provides instructions on how to disassemble their assembly cube puzzles.

Thanks, no, i didnt get instructions. Now i see why the assy cube is so great. it just pops out. this is awesome, too bad there is no springs :)
