Hi guys,

I have been lent a domino as you may know but things didn't quite work out. We couldn't get the domino apart.

Anyway... I would like to put the offer out there again and ask for another domino. Now that I have researched the dominos a little better, I have a better understanding of what I need.

I am looking for a domino that has the axis mechanism, not the the tongue and groove mechanism. Therefore, I am looking for one that has the following mechanism:

http://www.virtualpuzzlemuseum.com/insideviews9of12.htm

However, the problem, is that this is a blind-man's domino. The outside pieces I want are like the ones displayed here:

http://www6.ocn.ne.jp/~i4no/2arms.html

This pic shows the the correct domino with the printed dots rather than raised dots, but with the tongue and groove mechanism which I don't want.

THE REQUEST
-----------
I need someone who is willing to do all the following:

A) Confirm that their domino has printed dots, not raised ones.
B) Confirm that their domino has the cross mechanism and not the tongue and groove mechanism.
C) Can easily have it dissassembled before sending.
D) Is happy to sent it (disassembled) to me via registered or insured post.

THE OFFER
---------
A) Your domino safely returned (of course)
B) A brand new 3x3x2 remade (recast) domino with coloured stickers instead of dots.

Ok, let me know.

Only had a couple of responses for far, but without the cross mechanism.

Doesn't anyone want to score a free domino?

Just out of curiosity, what's the practical difference between the two mechanisms? Is the tongue-and-groove mechanism more likely to pop apart or something? I'm worried about the strength of the axis pieces - are the plastics you're working with strong enough to hold up as a central mechanism?

Also... why not just duplicate the domino with raised bumps and just sand off the bumps, then reduplicate?

That was the original intention to sand of the bumps. Problem is that the casting process is so exact, you'd see the filed areas in each piece, but I can get around that. I'm just being lazy.

As you say, I might just go ahead with the one I have.
