Looks like Hendrik Haak a.k.a PuzzleFriend on eBay has a Rainbow Cube for sale.

Not sure whether I should be happy for him for being so enterprising or lamenting the fact that the chances now look slim for buying one of these at a reasonable price...

Are chances are good if M. Watnabe in Japan dosen't get a drift of this puzzle forum.
Otherwise, he may fall to the Dark Side, and ask outreageous prices for his cubes.

I have a "gut" feeling that Uwe Meffert is going to come out with this cube soon.
(take note my "gut" has been wrong in the past) hehehe...

Anyway, at 25 $ a crack, it seems O.K., if they are becoming rare like Pope $#!T,
and we have to pay 35 $ to 50 $, well, so be it.

Lets just hope this Rainbow cube dosen't turn in to a second Dogic. (rare & expensive)

He must have had more than one because he put another one up with a buy it now price of $35. I took the bait.

The Rainbow cube appears trivial to manufacture compared to the Dogic, so the price of making one shouldn't be nearly as high. A Rainbow at $30 will certainly be a lot more profitable than a Dogic at even $35. With teh cost being lower, I can see more being produced in the initial run, if that's all there is.

But then again, there are other puzzles which one would think are a snap to produce but are still not made. Like the octahedral Pyraminx (for lack of a more specific term for it).
