My last message seems to be sinking down the ranks without a response. Could it be that nobody has charted out the shifting positions of the tiles on the Master Magic? Please, if anyone has a chart showing how to reposition the pieces of the completed "zig-zag" arrangement on the backs of the pieces of the long, straight arrangement, this would be most useful as I attempt to assemble my DIY Master Magic with a custom image.

Thanks,

Peter

I can scan both sides of original Master magic. But only on Monday. Can you wait?

I am interested too. If you could send me the scan or post it here that would be great.

Thanks

That would be just fine with me. I have one question that might not be answered by a scan -- are there any identically-patterned tiles, and if so, which winds up where once the Magic is in the other "solved" configuration?

Identical tiles are only on "separate rings" side. All tiles on other side are unique. I scanned both sides when "separate rings" side solved. So, you can find out which tile goes where.

Building custom magic you don't need to save the solution from original one. My method is to use "draft" tiles first. They have numbers (1, 2, ...) on one side and letters (A, B, ...) on other. I build magic with one correct side and perform the "solution" to get necessary scheme for other side tiles positions and orientations.

Thanks for the scan pictures. Is it possible for you to scan the puzzle when it is in the 6x2 format with the rings connected on the front? This would be helpful for those of us trying to assemble one of these puzzles.

Thanks
