Hi James, ...to tell you the truth, I wrote to M. Meffert the 27 th of October, and I still haven't received an answer. Kind of a disappointment, because I sent him a long letter, in fact, I resume a couple of our posting concerning the Dogic, and pointed out that if there was anyone who could and should bring back the Dogic, it was him. In the meantime, there is another Dogic for sale on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1662841360A couple of weeks ago Dodd (little sam) won a Dogic for 286.00 $, This Dogic has a BuyNow for 289.00 $, ...you only have six more days to talk Santa into picking up that Dogic for you... Good Luck & If ever I hear from M. Meffert I will post the answer. Michael

I was mailing Uwe(Mr.Meffert) several times 2 weeks ago and he replied that he might have some new puzzles for us in 2002 but he didn't reveal much. I asked him about the Master Pyraminx(besides of course Dogics, Octahedrons) but he only replied to tell me that Master Pyraminx is not really practical as the mold would cost US$100,000 to produce so no Master for sure. However, good news is he read about my comment on Dogic + Octahedron and several other rare sequential movement puzzles and he didn't comment much on them but said to me again that there's some new cool stuff coming in 2002 hopefully :0) Maybe he trying to get the tender for the Dogics etc. but doesn't want to reveal much. Anyway, this last bit is just my speculation, just sharing with u guys, so don't shoot yourself if there's eventually negative news from him OK? But he did seem pretty sure of a new puzzle or two in 2002 though and a special one too! Maybe I shall mail him again tonite and c!

Actually I have a dogic which I got from a shop in Germany. It cost about US$40 with shipping (actually the shipping cost about as much as the puzzle) but it was pretty lucky. It was apparently the last buch of them that were made...
I personally think Mefferts would do a really good job with the dogics. There would be a very big demand for them (at least initially) judging by the people at this site...

I had asked him several months ago, if we could expect new puzzles soon... And he hinted that new puzzles we're in the works, which ones ? Only Uwe knows for sure. If manufacturing 3x3x3 cubes is still profitable more than 20 years after it first came out, then producing new puzzles i.e. Dogics and other twisty puzzles, should be a seen as a long term investment. Rubik is supposed to produce the UFO for january 2002, and if ever M.Meffert produces new puzzles for 2002 ...Things are looking good ! Uwe used to always sign "Keep puzzling alive" so let's hope he practices what he preaches !!! Michael

I was just curious about what was on the list of the several other rare sequential movement puzzles. Could you please list them for me? I want to know if I heard them all. Just curious.

I got this response from him yesterday. Did not elaborate on what puzzles.
" Hi Oscar
Yes I have a couple of new puzzles on the drawing board.
Happy Puzzling Uwe"

I have usually had better success communicating with Jing Meffert than with Ewe. I think he must be very busy or something... I emailed Jing today mentioning some puzzles - eg various octahedrons, icosahedron skewb, dogic, and a couple of interesing ones from the virtual puzzle museum (eg siamese skewbs). This was her reply (which came about half an hour after i sent the message by the way):
James,
Thanks for your information, we very appreciate it indeed. They are so interesting and creative, GREAT!
Jing
Well she didnt say no, but she didnt say yes. So who knows?...

Hi James,
You sent me two wonderful e-mails with different website, they are really great information for us to review. You are wonderful. BIG THANKS!
We are planning to create some new puzzles next year. Hopefully they are able to be completed shortly.
Have a nice day! Jing

You might find that the Mefferts will be well aware that they being quoted word for word. I think you'd find them less likely to comment about anything specifically if their words are pasted into stone.
Might be an idea just to mention the jist of what is said in an email.
