Hello there.

I'm relatively new here, so I apologise if this is in the wrong section or a duplicate thread.

I'm trying to find somewhere to buy the mass produced version of Tomz' 4x4x6 puzzle. All the main online stores I know of have sold out of the black/white stickered versions.

eBay seems to be the only place that stocks them (that I can find) and one item in particular seems pretty cheap: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291049532628?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649.

How can you tell this is a legit version? or is there no such knock-off versions of this puzzle?

I'm still learning about various companies and cubes, so please excuse the naivety.

Thanks :)

The price seems legit, and in the description a calvin's puzzle box is shown. This looks legit, and if you don't get the calvin's puzzle one you didn't get what you ordered. Also, thanks for finding that on eBay for me. I've been looking too :D

Ah ok. I just wanted to make sure. I'm really excited to get a hold of one.
And no problem 8-) there are others on eBay, but at triple the cost, hence my scepticism regarding this one.

Indeed it looks legitimate, but in the future please consult the Admin or Moderators before posting links if you are not sure.

Price is the best way to spot a fake usually, and in this case you are right to be concerned at that price differential. Bust most fakes wouldn't ship from Canada :) I'm guessing this is a seller not aware of the market price. Usually a KO will be rock bottom cheap and all over the place.
That said, if you receive it and it isn't from Calvin's production, please let me know.

Dave

As far as I'm aware there hasn't been any KO's of this particular puzzle, I freqent puzzle stores often, and have never seen any other type available for sale.

Having said that, I wonder if a copy could actually be considered KO? Since the design files have been made available by tom under Creative commons open source licence:
