Dear puzzlers

a short time ago I took my 3x3x6 cuboid from the shelf and applied some crappy selfmade supercube stickers to it. This added new and interesting challenges to that puzzle. I.e. if you try to use parity algorithms some centers are turning. As you dont have 90 degree turns with the 3x3x6 cuboid I could not apply any algorithm (that I know) to fix this problem. So I had to develop a new solving strategy - which was fun :-)

I could imagine that applying super-"cube" stickers to other puzzles could reveal new and interesting challenges. Further it helps to develop a deeper understanding for these puzzles.

I would wonder if this idea is new, but I couldnt find any supercube stickers for cuboids or other puzzles than regular cubes and megaminxes anywhere.

If somebody know where one could buy those stickers - please let me know.
If somebody knows a good software for creating your own stickers - please let me know as well.

I have the feeling that with creative stickering (not only supercube-stickers) we could add many many new challenges to our old puzzles.

Happy puzzling
Dr. Twist

I have made many super-cubiods by trimming CubeSmith stickers and using the standard Super Cube pattern. I will take a picture of them tonight when I get home from work.

You could place a special order with Oliver. He probably has the templates for the mass produced cuboids, so adding the super cube function would be easier than ordering from a different place.

My initial thoughts are that by solving with the "inside out" technique Each pair of layers now solves identcally to the two outer layers, with edges having unique orientation. Am I correct in this assumption?

Here are the Super Cuboids I've made so far as well as 3 new blank cubiods for me to finish when I get some free time.

Thanks for posting this topic as it reminded me that I had those 3 other cuboids just sitting in a drawer for over a year cleaned and ready to have "super cube" sticker applied to them. Thanks to the winter storm we had this past week I had enough free time to finish them. I still need to order and extra 3x3x5 to do one of those too.

I got these stickers from CubeSmith. All of these cuboids have cubies the same size as standard 3x3x3s or 4x4x4s so I start with those stickers and use an X-Acto knife and metal straight edge to trim 1/16 inch off of the edges to do the "Super Cube" pattern.
