Hi everyone.
I'm having a long week-end in Budapest next week, and was wondering if there was anything particular to visit cube-related, and of course if there was shops or places where I could eventually find puzzles :D
Thanks in advance for all advice.

Last time I was in Budapest all I managed to find were the standard modern Rubik's puzzles (3x3, 4x4, Triamid), and loads of those wooden 'Hungarian' puzzle boxes...even though they aren't Hungarian in the slightest.

I'm going back again in a few weeks, so I too would be interested in hearing if anyone knows of somewhere specific to find interesting puzzles.

Hi,

I live in Budapest, but unfortunately I can't offer you a "sightseeing tour", because with my wife we are waiting for our new baby (coming in the next few days).

But I can offer you one good shop:
The website is in Hungarian, but still you can use the map.:
http://www.gemklub.hu/gondolkodo.html
They have 2 shops; one in the Pest side and one in the Buda side. Both are small, but good, full with nice toys / puzzles (mostly IQ, cast, wooden, Rubik, jigsaw... toys).

Have a safe trip, and of course if you need help, you can contact me (if needed I can give you my cell phone number in PM).

Olivér

Thank you for the answer.... I'll give it a look...
Just need to convince my wife now that this shop is a "must-see" in a 4 days week-end in Budapest

Search for a nearby tourist attraction, and then discover the shop by coincidence.

If you are looking for something special nearby, I really, really recommend this:

"The Invisible Exhibition is a unique interactive journey to an invisible world, where in total darkness you find your way only by touch, sounds and scent.
Give us your blind trust!"

I can ensure you, it will give you a lifetime experience on the world of blind people, what you will never forgot.
