I live in the U.S., particularly Alabama.
Around me... there are NO COMPETITIONS!!!
All the competitions occur up in the north, too far away from me.
The only place I've looked for competitions is on WCA's website though.
How do I know if there are any competitions around me?
Like, Cubetcha is a competition hosted yearly but it's not posted on the WCA website.
Huffff....
I average 8.39 on 3x3, but I cant even go to a competition.

You should just invest in a plane ticket to Las Vegas for world's. That competition is going to be a real insane experience. Otherwise, this is the wrong forum for you. Speedcubing forum talks a lot more about competitions and solving. You might want to check that out.

What YYPJ said.

Also, www.cubingusa.com has all the events- official and unofficial.

I'm from Ireland, and I've only started cubing, but i would love to go to a cubing competition, solely for the experience and meeting other cubers. I am wondering if there is ever any competitions in Ireland? (I checked the W.C.A. website and there was one but I'm wondering is there going to be anymore?) Thanks
