No, it's not a boxed macaroni meal. I just want to point out that 10- and 14-segment cheeses would be quite easy to make with 2- or 3-shelled mechanisms, respectively. Theoretically you could keep going to add even more segments (in fours), but the mechanism would probably be too fragile because of the thin pieces.

EDIT: Well, at least I think it is. If it were single layer it would operate as would a 10 piece cheese, but Greg limited the movements on the top and bottom layers so that it can't shapeshift.

Actually I idn't limit the movement, I made it based on a Pent Prism. If I wanted it fully functionnal, I would've done a 1 layer prisminx with sq-1 addon-type pieces.

Yeah, that's kinda what I figured. The corner cutting is a nice bonus.

Slices hitting at very acute angles like that tend to make for a mushy movement.

As I have found out. I'm toying with the idea of redoing my 12-segment prism with a V-Cube-like mechanism to make it less mushy. The acute angles might still interfere with each other, however.
