hi all

when my Dino Cylinder put into the market,
I receive some requests to Re- produce the Normal Dino cube, and the Dino star.
now I have the planning to use the same core to produce the normal Dino cube first.
my partner still be mf8, You all know the mf8 crafts are the best. :)

I hope not to infringe upon the other people's patent.
If here have any unappropriate, please contact me.
thanks
SMAZ

You hope to infringe upon other people's patents? SmaZ, I didn't know you accepted KOs.

This is really good news. I think they will be an instant seller, and I will be buying my share. :)

I would love to own one of your Dino cubes.
I have waited for this a long time.

(And I have the right sticker for it... )

Dino cubes?! Looks like I picked the perfect time to get into puzzling :D

It's a bit late for my birthday (my list is full already after all this stuff) but this is definitely going on my Christmas list (wow, I've overflowed on list items... :o )

Go for it. The patents on the Dino Star, Dino Cube, etc are long expired. I'd love to own one of each, as well I would also like someday to own a new Cheese reproduction as well. I believe the only people who would be upset by this are those few who actually paid > $500.00 USD or more for a Dino, Dino Star, or a Cheese on eBay or elsewhere.

I once bought a vintage used Domino in fairly worn condition for $60, and it turned pretty nice once I cleaned, lubed, and re-tensioned it, but I'm also quite happy to now own a newer reproduction Domino for a quarter the price ($15), which will save the original from further wear and tear.

As a puzzle the Dino cube is perhaps not so interesting. It is almost trivially simple to solve.
What makes the Dino cube of interest to collectors is its rarity. This won't change by a modern reproduction. The reproduction won't have the same stye of stickers or manufacturing artifacts, so it will still be possible to distinguish the rare ones from the common ones.

So I suppose some might be upset, but I would guess most of the small group of collectors owning authentic Dino cubes will still appreciated their undiminished rarity :)

While it is an easy puzzle, it is also a very cool puzzle. It’s a cool part of history and while this won’t match that history it will still be a chance to share in that history. I would buy this puzzle in a heartbeat if it looked quality (no doubt it will) and that it is reasonably priced.

I would also buy at leat one!
What stickers do you plan on ?
I personally do not like the dinosaur stickers, I would prefer 4- and 6- coloured versions.

I want to add to Dave's comment: SmaZ offers currently two versions of the Dino Cobe, already. A mass-produced version would not change much for those vintage puzzles collectors.
A mass-produced Dino at a sub $20 price range would mostly affect SmaZ's own custom puzzle business.
I have one got from SmaZ and would probably buy a second, especially if it comes with the SmaZ stickers as on the Dino Cylinder. :) (My current has six colours.)

SmaZ: how about one with color-molded plastic? :) You could re-make the 4-color version easily this way.

Yes, and with regular stickers -- not with silly dinosaurs on them. The fact that this puzzle (designed independently by several different people, including me) was originally produced with dinosaur stickers and strange colorings should not prevent a reissue as a normal twisty puzzle -- the basic vertex-turning cube.

Please, with your SmaZ stickers (the hollow stickers like on your Dino Cylinder) :) At least, do offer them optionally!

I vote to SmaZ stickers too!
Or maybe you can offer replacement sets with full stickers.

I do not like the dinosaur textured ones...

Hooray! Besides, if anyone wants full stickers, they can buy them afterwards from another shop. Your hollow stickers basically your signature.
