Does anybody remember a Rubik's Cube Deluxe Edition?

http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1639159336

I don't remember any cubes being sold with the Rubik logo on the yellow face, or with a Rubik logo on tiles.

Is this for real?

Personally, I don't remember it, but our friend Denny from the Virtual Puzzle Museum,
has a picture of one, so I guess the Deluxe Version did exist !
Take a look, and good luck in your bidding, this one, is going to go for a lot. (hunch)

Here is a possible source but I am not sure of how much the shipping would be. In order to read the text, you will need to use http://www.altavista.com and translate the text from Japanese to English.

The yellow tile having the logo on it may be a bit odd, but I have seen various images of the Deluxe version where the logo was on White or on Blue, so I guess they randomly picked where they put the logo.

I would presume the one on Ebay is real (or at least a really good fake) :)

I saw that site that had Deluxe cubes for sale. 12,000 yen? That's about $90. Ouch!

When I saw the page, I had some suspicions about the Dogic which I saw the "nai" at the end, which typically implies a negative case in Japanese. Babelfish confirmed my suspicions. What it's saying there is "Dogic: No Stock" or "Out of stock". :-/ L8r.

Keep in mind that just because it is an official Deluxe Rubik's cube doesn't always mean that it has plastic tiles. There were primarily two Deluxe cubes. One had only an improved (smoother) mechanism and, of course, the Deluxe labeled packaging but used the standard colored stickers. The other one had both the improved mechanism and the plastic colored tiles.
