Hey guys,

I noticed a lot of people doing these kinds of things last year- Sebuver and Clauwse to name two- and decided to start a puzzle resolution of my own. I'll attempt to obtain 52 puzzles by the end of the year, and then list them here. Here are the rules:

I can only collect up to two of the same puzzle. When I say the same puzzle, I mean the same brand of a type of cube; therefore, I could collect just 52 3x3s if they were all of different brands (if it weren't for the other rules...)

I must also obtain 12 mods, and build 12 mods. Note that if I buy a puzzle for the purpose of one of these mods, it will probably not already be on the list; however, if it is, it will be removed and replaced with the new puzzle.

Also, there are a few puzzles which I received last year, but never stickered, and one is in a tentative half-assembled state. When these are complete, I will add them to the 2011 list.

Hopefully, I will also be able to post a video review of each of them.

All puzzles are black, unless otherwise noted.

Thank you Kapusta. You've now helped me make one of my resolutions even better. I'm not going to collect at least 52 puzzles, I'm going to collect at least 52 unique puzzles.

You guys and 52. You have 1 extra day outside the 52 weeks, you know.

The puzzling aspect of my resolution is to double the size of my collection using only unique puzzles.

Unique puzzle- a puzzle which has a different solving experience than any previously existing puzzle in a collection.

By that standard, if I was to get a speedcube as opposed to my Rubik's Crap, the solving aspect is not modified and therefore it is not unique. On the other hand, if I got a 4-color 3x3x3, the solving aspect is different and therefore unique (you must solve the centers too, which you don't get to do on a normal 3x3x3.

Oh my! I just counted the puzzles I've put up on facebook each month. My grand total was 974!
I hadn't realized I had gotten that many. I didn't count doubles, and I didn't count prototypes or puzzles that I have pre-runs of that I'm not allowed to post yet.

My resolution? To make it to 1000 Next year

How in the world did I get so many puzzles????

My resolution is to reach atleast 125 puzzles in my collection at least 10 of them I have to make or have to be purchased from Shapeways. Good luck on everybody else's resolutions!

My Goals are:

To collect one unique puzzle every week.

Design and Release 10 New Puzzles.

Become Color Neutral.

Learn Full OLL and PLL.

Get my average on 3x3 below 14 seconds.

Everyone seems to be getting bigger and bigger collections.
I think my new years resolution will be to maintain a high quality selection of puzzles in my collection. I have around 40 puzzles, and not consider going over 50.

But most of all I do not want to buy puzzles just for my collection, I want to buy puzzles to challenge myself rather than compete with others for the greatest number of puzzles.

If I double my collection, you will still have more puzzles than I do. As for competition, I don't think it's possible to get a larger collection than Georges.

My resolution is to simply work on custom puzzle building in some way or form every single day, whether it be work on a design in CAD, cast a few pieces, or cut stickers from my vinyl cutter for a puzzle.

My goal is to collect 52 new puzzles by the end of the year, and learn how to solve all of them. Sticker mods do not count, but shape mods do. Brand has no effect (20 3x3x3s, each one a different brand, will still only count as one puzzle, a 3x3x3). Edit: I'm also going to buy at least 4 custom puzzles (same guidelines as above), and make 4 custom puzzles (same guidelines).

Edit2: Coming soon is puzzles I've bought or traded for but haven't yet received. Wish list is puzzles I want to buy or trade for.

Edit3: Rules changed to make it include puzzles besides twisty puzzles, too. The reason for this is that I don't want to force myself to not buy puzzles I want just because they're not twisty.

It's a month into the year. How are you guys doing? Remember, it's not too late to start a resolution list if you haven't already!

So how did everyone's new year resolution from last year go?

Horribly. I got somewhere around 10 puzzles. For Christmas the only thing I added to my collection was a square 2, and most of the others were just random flea market grabs.

EDIT: I built one "mod" and obtained no mods. :/
