Yes, the number of emails has gotten very confusing to say the least. Bottom line for me though is that I'm still glad to see new, "legitimate" puzzles coming out so frequently. Ok, not too frequently, because my bank account is having trouble keeping up.

I appologize if you are thinking I was angry. I was just commenting on the large volume lately. It is wonderful that the Anisotropic Cube has become available to the masses, but 16 messages (8 unique) is a lot for one week. Comsidering the number of new puzzles lately, I can honestly say that Mefferts has fulfilled his promise of "Twleve new Puzzles in Twelve Months". Actually less than twelve. I've not counted them individually, but there are lots, not even counting the rebranded "China Puzzles". And plenty of reruns of puzzles that have been gone for years

I spoke to Uwe about this tonight. There is a problem with their HK server, that's why you are getting duplicates. I had an email from Think fast toys today-4 of the same thing.

Sorry to bump an old post, but I feel it's time...

Last I heard the Jade Club puzzles were planning on being shipped out starting November. It's now November. Anyone know if we're still on target for this?

It's November all right. Should be coming soon. I handed over a bunch of prototype pieces to Uwe last week and the color was confirmed. I'm guessing they should start shipping soon. The puzzles themselves are made and assembled. The masks are now good, and it should be painting time soon. That might have already started.
I got a real history lesson with way too many dates and names last week so the painting date for this set has slipped my mind. But this week anyway.

Just like you, I'm waiting. All I have are a few edges and a few centers left. Not even a whole puzzle to call my own!

Does anyone know if we are likely to get the Jade puzzles this year?

Yeah, I could be earning interest on my Jade Cube investment by now!

Just kidding!

Seriously, though, shouldn't these have been ready like in March? If it's those silly microchips that are holding up the production, then please, just leave them be; it's an unnecessary and waste of technology. :scrambled:

Yeah I hear you. I don't really give a crap about the microchips, I just want my pretty limited edition puzzles that I paid for like some 8-9 months ago. I love Mefferts and always like to give them the benefit of doubt, but this is taking way too long.

I only wonder what other hassles those microchips are actually going to cause once they start shipping and are detected going through customs. I can envision a lot of destroyed puzzles being delivered because of this.

I don't know why people keep mentioning the RFIDs.

Roxanne has been mentioning (for months now) that it is the masks for the custom painting that has been the delay. From June:

Unless you have more information than Roxanne (which few people do), I would suggest not speculating, it just adds needless confusion.

I'm only asking because the last hints we got were on here. They said mid November as a start date for shipping. We've passed that now. If these don't ship in the next few days, we'll be lucky to see them before new year with Christmas post.

You're right about the speculation, but I think we've all been more than patient. After the last set of issues I believe the promise from Meffert was for more regular feedback (correct me if I'm wrong here). I don't believe we've had anything official from Jade Club in months.

True, the timing is getting close but if the end of the year is missed it won't be the worst thing in the world. Meffert wanted to get them out this year and there were multiple (documented by Roxanne) delays.

I would guess Meffert is far more unhappy about these delays than anyone on this forum. I'm sure if he didn't have standards they would have been out already with misaligned paint. He loses money every time the masks are redone, and opportunity to build other puzzles to sell with every delay.

Where some may send criticism for this I am happy for the investment in quality.

Spot on. A bit of impatience is certainly understandable and communication from the Meffert site is not known to be the best.
Good thing we have an (unpaid) agent inside in his organization to give us regular updates and accurate information. As such, inaccurate speculation has no excuse.

One can hope that, like the non-Jade puzzles promised and recently announced, people's patience will be rewarded.

Dave :)

I've just seen this post.
I spoke with Uwe about these as well. Like you, I want my finished puzzles!
Can I tell you when they are coming? Sadly no. Uwe has promised he will send a newsletter soon. When that will be, I have no idea.
He is currently working on another surprise that you will all find out about shortly-within 48 hours I would guess.
I haven't met with him this week, and won't see him again until late next week. And even that is tentative. I've a boatload of meetings (I've already cried to Dave about this), and my meeting Uwe has to take second seat I'm afraid.

And if anyone is good at getting their boss to cut unnecessary babel, could you please tell me how to do it? I'm struggling with trying to cut a presentation in half. I may have to use some of the suggestions given to bhearn and speak while circumnavigating the globe

I really do appreciate the updates you're giving us, but I think we need to see more updates coming from official channels. The best you can provide us is second hand info, that Meffert can dismiss as hearsay or speculation if need be.

What we need is for him now to either come out and announce a shipping date or let us all know exactly where we are up to with shipping the puzzles. We need him to tell us if they are ready to ship, and if not what the delay is currently and when his target date for shipping is. If that target will be missed, we need another message saying about the delay and how it will affect everything and a new target date.

I don't mind (too much) delays. It's the lack of being kept in the loop that bothers me.

I feel that for me, a big issue is that the pre-paid puzzles are delayed over and over and yet new puzzles are being churned out all the time.

How can I join this club? Or make myself worthy. I got some mail about this early Jan about this but never heard anything more about it. I got some nice green emails later this year as well but I do not think I am a member.

Hows this for "first hand information"? I've been to the factories, I've seen the puzzles produced, I know the guys who are helping out, and I can uncategorically state there is one heck of a lot more work going into the jade puzzles than any of the new ones being "churned out".

Many of these new puzzles use mold pieces from previous puzzles-cores included. The Jade club puzzles were made from an entirely new set of molds.

The mosaic cube was not "churned out" as you put it, but has gone through 4 different sets of molds since Uwe picked it up. It has been in the works since at least February. I wanted that one to hit the streets last Easter, but problems caused many delays. (Please correct me if I'm wrong Oskar-on the dates and number of different renditions of it-too much puzzle information in my little head I guess.)

I'm patiently waiting and not overy bothered. My only concern is that I've had to move twice in the (has it been a year now) since these were offered. I've kept my Jade Club address upto date but will there be a reminder sent out before shipment to give everyone a chance to verify the puzzle is being shipped to the correct address?

Thanks,
Carl

What is this surprise? Nothing has been released yet and the 48 hours have passed. Im curious. Is it the professor pyraminx that randomly appeared on Mefferts.com earlier today (but was randomly removed)?

Anyways, I wish Uwe would just give us a date that the puzzles would ship. He could overestimate the shipping by 4 months. I wouldn't care because at least I would have an idea as to when the puzzles would ship (no matter what) . I know Uwe is busy but the Jade Club investments we made, stocks if you will, have to end up somewhere. Im just wondering when our "stocks" will prove a good investment.

This would be a nice Christmas present!

I've just received the latest Newslater from the Jadeclub.
There is one sentence that is confusing me:
Quote:
As some sort of compensation for your long wait I will give all JadeClub members a special 10% discount on all New Mefferts Puzzles for the next 8 month if they are reserved and purchased from the JadeClub site.
There is no way to reserve or purchase any of the mentioned puzzles "from the Jadeclub site".
On the Jadeclub reservation page there is the "Holey Skewb", only.
Not exactly a new puzzle :)

It says Meffert's puzzles. So I'm guessing things like the Mosaic Cube and Professor Pyraminx should be cheaper. :D

The conditional " if they are reserved and purchased from the JadeClub site" is confusing me, because there, on the JadeClub site, is nothing to be reserved (but the "Holey Skewb")
I'm sure it's just a wording problem and Jadeclub members will get the mentioned discount, anyway.

EDIT: I have not wanted to critizise this. The thing with the temporary availabilty of the Professor Pyraminx has somewhat spoiled the surprise inteded by the Newsletter. Here is a simple copy and paste (as far as I can see, nobody else has posted it yet):

Subject: JadeClub News as of Nov 27, 2010 - Happy 40th Birthday to Pyraminx!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello All!

In honor of the anniversary of the Pyraminx, Tony Fisher will make our new Meffert’s Puzzles YouTube site live on November 27th. you can see it at http://www.youtube.com/user/MeffertsPuzzles .

Regarding the final shipping date for the Jade Pyraminx and Jade cube is moving forward slowly but surely. I am expecting to have some confirmed shipping schedule by early next week. Understandablymany of you are not happy with this forever stretching delay I am probably on the top of that list and really trying all I can to expedite things.

Now to a more pleasant topic, today is the 40thAnniversary since the conception of my Pyraminx, which is just one day before my 71stBirthday. As a special Birthday treat I am happy to announce the release of our brand new Prof. Pyraminx that many of you had considered an impossible task. This was also designed by Timur Evbatyrov along withthe Vulcano and some other great puzzles to come over the next two month.

As some sort of compensation for your long wait I will give all JadeClub members a special 10% discount on all New Mefferts Puzzles for the next 8 month if they are reserved and purchased from the JadeClub site.

This starts from now for any new puzzles shipped after today, such as the Vulcano, Mosaic cube and Prof. Pyraminx. For any of you that have already paid for the Vulcano direct from the Mefferts site I will issue a US$4.20 Credit voucher for each Vulcano puzzle purchased which can be used as part or full payment on future new puzzle orders from the Jade Club or the Mefferts site.
Yesterday when our webmaster set up the Reserve Limited Edition Puzzle page, the shopping cart whilst being tested was life
for a couple of minutes and several of you placed your orders. On Monday the US$42.00 will be refunded in full and you can reserve your Prof. Pyraminx from the JadeClub Reservation page and receive a 10% discount as mentioned above.
the Vulcano

To purchase the VULCANO please go direct to: http://sites.webec.com.hk/meffert2/inde ... roduct=454

If you have enjoyed the Meffert's Pyraminx then the Vulcano designed by Timur Evbatyrov will be even more of a joy to twist. Not only does the Vulcano have all the moves of the Pyraminx, but it also turns on its face. This adds an extra element of unexpected puzzling fun. The Vulcano is not just one Pyraminx, but four! The fusing of four Pyraminx's makes this is a truly amazing puzzle that you will not only want to own, but also to give friends to enjoy as well.

As many of you are also Jade Club members probably already have ordered it from Mefferts (since it has been on the mefferts site for a while now), the 10% discount is only showing up on the Jade Club site. Better late than never, I suppose. I will try to email Uwe on this, for now. Has anybody had success emailing him through a Yahoo account?

Thanks

I've sent email to Uwe, already. I had purchased the Vulcano earlier and had reserved the Professor Pyraminx (originally I had bought it, but for a few hours only :) ) and the Mosaic Cube. Now I have reserved them from the JadeClub site a second time. I hope this is not confusing for Meffert's.

EDIT: Uwe has answered already: The double reservation is not a problem. Their system will take care of that.
He will issue a voucher for the earlier ordered Vulcano. So, I see no problem at all.

I got a response back from meffert's customer service rep. I think we may see the credits show up at some future date. At my request, they also exchanged a Black Dayan Gem instead of the multicolored version since I ordered it before the photos were posted and I decided the solid one was more attractive...

I usually try to avoid double shipping, but with a staggered release schedule for "Her today, gone tomorrow" type special items, it's best to nab them as early as possible. I'm at a point now in my collection, which most of the in-stock items on Mefferts that I'm interested in purchasing, I already own. I'm also trying really hard to grow my collection in terms of unique items rather than duplicates. :scrambled:

The 10% discount applies to all of the new puzzles purchased through Jade Club. My beef about it was that the Vulcano was released on the Meffert's website prior to any mention in the Jade Club area. I checked yesterday, and there is a link to buy the Vulcano at 10% discount. And yes, he did mention the Vulcano puzzles for Jade members:
Jade Club wrote:
For any of you that have already paid for the Vulcano direct from the Mefferts site I will issue you a US$4.20 Credit voucher for each Vulcano puzzle purchased which can be used as part or full payment on future new puzzle orders from the Jade Club or the Mefferts site, just let me know by sending an email to [deleted] giving details of your Vulcano purchase.

Yesterday, I logged into the JadeClub area to reserve the Professor Pyraminx and Mosaic Cube, and I reserved both of them. They are still up for reserve now.

It sounds like the new jade puzzles will be coming pretty soon, showing from what Roxane and other have posted. However I am still looking for an invite; if anyone could please help me out I will send a pm with my email! Thanks

Edit: I have been invited!

Back in July, I had a problem with my login. I got a reply from xxx - and the problem was solved.
I hope this email address is still valid.

EDIT: removed the email address. I will send a PM

I suggest that private e-mail addresses should be kept private (or communicated by PM if necessary) so that the account holder won't be bombarded with spam.

I haven't been patrolling the site this weekend but did all of you see the Meffert's newsletter stating that the Jade Puzzles will ship TOMORROW?

Finally

Here is part of the letter

I like to inform the puzzle community as a whole that the very unique and special JadeClub Jade Pyraminx and Jade cubes are finally ready to be shipped next Monday December 20th. If you are not yet a JadeClub member ask one of your friends who is a member to invite you or you can contact me directly on uwe(funnylittle symbol)jadeclub.org, please put in the subject line: Like to Join JadeClub.

Finally! I can't wait now. I just wish there was a way for me to buy the Jade Cube too, as at the point when I did the order I only wanted the Jing's Pyraminx.

For those of you who have ordered, you should be getting yours soon. They have started shipping! Silly Uwe mailed mine to me instead of hand delivering it like I told him to.

Rox, is there any chance I could buy the Jade Cube now? I didn't know what it was when I signed up, but now I really want one. :)

Me too, I quite like the Jade Cube but can't buy it now. Is there a possibility that we can buy a second puzzle at a later date? :D

I've searched this and other related threads for the answer to this question which hasn't been answered since the months ago when it was asked:

I received a Jade Club VIP invitation months ago and I registered and everything. I even sent my invitations to others who seem to have no problem with the site. However, that email with the memory-unfriendly log in and password was removed from my email due to its extensive age and I no longer have access to my already-set-up account. I then requested and received a second invitation in hopes of having access to the Jade Club and I have no access to that one either. I still receive every single newsletter.

Is there any way I can regain access to my own account?

Try to login to the Jade-Club site. It seems that you can buy additional Cubes under the link "puzzles"

I personally like the plain white jade puzzles. I am a VIP member so I will receive the painted set but I also bought the white jade set because plain white is NICE!

I assume that you have contacted Uwe with his Jade-Club address?
I had a login problem (very different from yours) back in July. I sent email to 'Jades(funny little symbol)JadeClub.org' and my problem was solved immediately.

I really wanted the painted ones, but only had enough money to get the plain ones. However, I seem to remember last year that someone on the forum said anyone who sent out 3 invitations by a certain date, they would automatically get the painted puzzles. I did that, but can anyone confirm?

I sent an email and the reply seemed to me like it was meant for someone else- it didn't make sense based on what I asked.
