I have bought a couple of Puzzles last weekend on a flea market, and I think I have a Politechnika Rubiks Cube here.
The cube has the typical printed colors and the purple side instead of orange.
I have disassembled the cube, and it's the same mechanisme and plastic like the 1980 Ideal cube version.
But the printed colors on the cube are fully scratched and faded. (see the attached picture)

Is it worth to collect a puzzle like this?
Otherwise I would clean the cube, sand the printed colors down and resticker the cube with new stickers from cubesmith.

Please tell me, what would you do? :)

thanks aliengrey for the link, but the quality of my cube is really bad.
I am quite sure, that it is a Politechnika Rubiks Cube, sorry for my unlucky thread title.

My basically question is, if it is worth to collect a cube in this bad condition.

I would say so, they seem to be pretty rare, and since they're a factory defect, that alone in my opinion makes them worth collecting. :P

Did the cube come with the box?
Even if the answer is no, I would keep it until I would find a better one.
Maybe you won't find another one for years.

I'm not a knowledgeable collector, but I'd leave it as is, no point in sanding/restickering such a rarity just to have a newer looking cube, considering a new cube is so cheap.

I agree, it's unlikely anything that rare has a collector's value (even in this state) of less than the under $10 of a brand-new really good DIY cube, and especially a well-used example is unlikely to prove a better cube for general use.

Thanks to everybody for many valuable comments.
You have persuaded me, that I own a small piece of Rubik's Cube history.
Therefore the Politechnika Cube will get an honourable place in my collection (without modding  ).

No, Georges. The cube is without the original box.
Georges, may I ask what you have paid for your nice Politechnika Cube with the box?
