I'm just curious. It's a superset of the Skewb, after all...

Luke, the skewb has 4 cuts, compared to the chopasaurus's 12, yes? So surely there are 2 other cubical shape mods of the skewb, which have selected different cuts on the chopasaurus? What would they look like?

This is my first post in a loong time, but this fascinates me. I couldn't resist asking.

No matter which four cuts you'd choose (as long as they form a skewb), it would look the same. The icosahedron has 20 faces (=10 deep cuts, not 12) though.

Ah ok, my mistake. but what if you chose just one of the "other" cuts on the cubical chopasaurus (as shown by luke) and then modeled what the other 3 cuts would be for the regular skewb? It couldnt look the same, because otherwise the angle between the cuts would be different surely?

Oh, sorry, I understood your question wrong... you were asking which other cuts form skewbs in the cubic chopasaurus, right? I'm having a hard time visualizing them, but I'm sure the rest of the skewbs look identical and use one of the 'normal' skewb's cutplanes, as you thought.

The best way I can describe it verbally is to look at a corner, choose the three cutplanes that cut it 'crookedly', and the 4th cutplane would be the regular skewb cutplane that doesn't cut the corner that is looked at. Kind of like an axised skewb.

Interesting how the corner in the middle of the first picture(and I’m assuming the opposite) look like a skewb ultimate corner. That could be a way to make this puzzle.
