Three circles intersecting like the puzzler. The outer two are connected with a gear meachanism.
There are numerous 2D-puzzles with intersecting circles but most of them have only two circles because a third one adds complexity only in exceptional circumstances. The inventor designed his puzzle to have three circles of equal size. Special about this puzzle is that the outer two circles are connected by a mechanism with gears so that both circles rotate in unison.
Although mechanically fascinating this does not anything to the puzzle's complexity because the puzzle retains its inherit symmetry. After having solved the inner and one of the outer circles the third is solved too.
