A marble is dropped into one of two holes seen in a slot at the top of the cylinder, and navigated through holes in a stacked series of discs. Each disc can be rotated by a projecting lever on the outside of the cylinder, by which the internal maze can be reconfigured into one of eight levels of difficulty.
Jerry Slocum acquired his sample in 1988 which sets an upper bound for its production.
