The Container is a shape variant of a Skewb sketched by Jean-Claude Constantin, invented by Tony Fisher and mass produced 20 years later.

Two squares of the original skewb were transformed to be the top and bottom squares of this shape. The other four original squares became the double-triangle-pieces on the edges.
Tony Fisher made this Container during two different periods of time in three different sizes and in two different colours.
The Container is one of the few ideas which were realized but not conceived by Tony Fisher. The idea steems from Jean-Claude Constantine (from France but living in Germany) who published a sketch of it with the name "Dose", a german word meaning can or box or sometimes container.
After request of Dieter Gebhardt in 1998 Tony Fisher made the first seven samples.
Edge length: 80 mm (short edge)
Edge length: 110 mm (long edge)

Dissatisfied with the results Tony picked up the concept again in 2006 and made a small sample using a Mini Skewb.
Edge length: 45 mm (short edge)
Edge length: 64 mm (long edge)

Once again not satisfied Tony immediately started with a third design using a standard skewb again.
Edge length: 60 mm (short edge)
Edge length: 88 mm (long edge)

Tony was so satisfied with this third version that he started an experiment with different plastic and created a white puzzle of the same size.

In 2018 mass production of the puzzle (stickerless body) started.
Edge length: 55 mm (short edge)
Edge length: 78 mm (long edge)
Weight: 102 grams
