A Pentultimate with 90° edge turns that are possible only when the Pentultimate is in midturn.
Twelve years ago the Pentultimate was considered the holy grail of twistypuzzles. Today it is nothing new anymore but used as base puzzle for an evergrowing number of new designs. Like this.
The corners of this dodecahedron behave like in any Pentultimate. The faces show an extended set of cuts. These cuts can only be used when the Pentultimate is placed in midturn. When this is done an additional type of turn is possible which is similar to an edge turn.
These additional turns allow steps of 45.
Edge length: 40 mm
