This is a modified 4x4x4, with the corners cut down to create octagons on the top and bottom, layers are offset by 45 degrees to create the brick pattern, the puzzle must be solved with the layers aligned and the colours offset, then moved into the solved brick pattern with the colours aligned on each side.
It is a reivented tower barrel (see the separate entry) but with a plainer colour scheme.
