A Cross 1x1x2 or two 1x2x3 fused into one puzzle reimplementing a prism with 2 layers.
A newly designed variant of the 1x2x3, or two 1x2x3s fused into one puzzle.
The first documented version was designed by Troy Robinson in 2016. Refer to images 1-2.
In 2017 Matt Carter made another version out of 1/8" stainless steel. Refer to images 3-5. Matt did not know anything about the earlier version. It has 14 unique faces. After lubrication and working out the center bolt tension it turns well.

Originally the inventor wanted to built a straightforward 1x2x3. Soon afterwards he realized that with just a little rework he could drill the adjacent unused sides of the center cubes and add 4 more outer cubes. It only took one day's down time to create the 4 extra cubes and drill the extra holes.
The result can be viewed as a prism with two layers.
