A Gear Cube which gears were cut in three times. This allows the puzzle to be turned like a 2x2x2.
This puzzle enhances the Gear Cube immensely. In addition to the Gear moves it also allows for 2x2x2-moves and these can be used to split the gears in pairs of three teeth each.
To find a way for the gears to scramble their teeth the inventor had to choose a different gear ratio than the Gear Cube from Oskar van Deventer because the gears had to be larger.
Finally he got a first prototype with a main flaw he had under estimated: the "2x2x2 cuts" had less friction than the "gear-cuts" so the puzzle tended to cut in half every sixth of a turn of the gears, making this type of turning very tedious. The inventor added a clicky mechanism for the "2x2x2 cuts" so these cuts only happen if you really want them.
The puzzle is made of 177 pieces and 144 stickers.
Edge length: 65 mm
