In 2009 Tony Fisher asked a friend to design masters for a 11x11x11 with CAD. Tony used these to cast the necessary pieces to create the first 11x11x11 from scratch. Although the 11x11x11 is covered by the V-Cubes patent in many countries (like the UK) it is legal to utilize a patent for private purposes. Tony did so in in this case as he made only one sample. On puzzles of this size this mechanism without any improvements or adjustments makes pieces unstable, loose and wiggly. This makes the puzzle easy popping.
