This puzzle was inspired by the Mental Box originally conceived by Vadim Grishin, although Vadim's version is not cubic. The Large Mental Box is cubic and has the clicking mechanism like that of the Skewb. The puzzle shapeshifts and has a specific orientation for each of the four edges (centers on the Skewb), which makes the puzzles more challenging to solve. 2018 a mass produced version hit the market under the name "Cubing Classroom Fisher Skewb Cube": Links
