This puzzle not only follows Quirky Gem II. It shares the same axis system although deeper cut and has the dual shape.

The Quirky Gem III is the next puzzle in the inventor's series of dihedral jumbling puzzles. It is based around the dual geometry of Quirky Gem II, with deeper cuts and more jumbling turns. It is face turning rather than vertex turning and has one extra turning axis added to the top and bottom faces.
The puzzle combines face turns and deep 1x2x2 edge turns to allow for both doctrinate and jumbling turns. Looking along the 1x2x2 cross sections reveals the hexagonal symmetry. Please refer to image 2.
Despite being deeper cut than the Gem II, the inventor thinks solving a scramble without jumbling is actually easier. Jumbling greatly increases the difficulty and allows for changing orientation of the corner pieces. This is the first puzzle in the series to have allow changing orientation.
The shape is called square bifrustum.
