A newly designed 2x2x2 with a mechanism resembling that of the 4x4x4 with the mechanism of Peter Sebesteny

Peter Sebesteny is named as the inventor of this 2x2x2 because this mechanism resembles his mechanism of the 4x4x4 way more than the 2x2x2 by Ernö Rubik.
The original year is a lower bound since the puzzle was no longer available when then puzzle was added to the museum.
