As in the case of a "fully functional 2x3x4", there is an additional layer of complexity in the solution. Some handmade 2x3x4 cuboids allow only 180°-turns for every layer and dimension. In contrast this bandaged 4x4x4 sometimes allows 90°-turnbs.
The year given here is a safe bound. In that year this variant was already entered to the predecessors of the museum.
Edge length: 66 mm
Weight: 192 grams
Back in the eighties almost the only opportunity to get new challenges in solving puzzles was to make a bandaged variant of an already known puzzle. This variant was one of them and the only way to get one was to build one by hand. However in 2011 mass production of this variant was started. These variants are quite easy to build. All which has to be done is to take a 4x4x4 and glue the appropriate tiles on them. Nothing more has been done here.
