A solution for this 3x3x3 shows all three colours stacked like in images 1-2 and shows one throughgoing pipe which can actually be tested with a small marble.
This variant of a 3x3x3 has eight distinguishable solutions with differently oriented pipes in each layer.
The puzzle exists with different colours. They all seem to use red, blue and yellow but not always with red in the middle.
