Rotate the layers until all rabbits can be seen through the top of the hat when held up to a bright light.
This puzzle used the principle of polarized light. The various layers contained thin sheets of polarizing film that had been cut out in various positions. The overlapping polarized layers would occlude light, but either the absence of the layer or a single layer would permit light to come through and reveal the outline of the rabbit.
Images 3-4 show the puzzle in its solved state, held up to the light and looked through. Image 3 viewed from the top, image 4 viewed from the bottom.
By the time of publication Parker Brothers was already an imprint of Hasbro.
